Vitello's track record is shite when it comes to big games when it matters! I think he chokes again

The question should be asked who will choke the most?

Tennessee?

Arkansas?

Kentucky?

Texas A&M?

Hopefully the stinking Vols will choke early and spare us the sight of the daisy puke yellow.

Vitello record in the NCAA Tournament is 17-9. I mean he’s been to Omaha 2 of the last 3 years, I say that’s a pretty good track record.

Woohoo, yall had a major league pitcher carry yall past us in Omaha last year on our side of the bracket.

If only that Super Regional sweep of LSU under him were considered "big games" I might actually have a counterpoint refuting this claim to throw back at you here. Ugh.

This is his 6th Regular season here excluding the canceled Covid year where we would have had a top 8 seed season. One rebuild year in year one. A Regional birth in year two after a decade+ of not making the NCAA pre Vitello. Covid year. Followed by Omaha twice and a Super Regional game 3 stinger to ND as the overall 1 seed.

Now we are about to be an overall 1 or 2 seed this year heading into post season. Maybe we win the natty. Maybe we don't even get out the regional. IDK. Such an unpredictable postseason college baseball is. But definitely will take our record and seeding position we have this year each year.

Ugh, he's just not a very good baseball coach, program builder, and evaluator/recruiter of talent I guess. If he "chokes" again this year-aka doesn't win the natty-I hope we fire him!

I bet y’all make it to CWS but Omaha field will neutralize your lineups power advantage. Wont be able to rely as much on home runs.

Tennessee hits homeruns on the road almost at the same rate as they do at home. I think they hit 12 home runs at Auburn and like 10 home runs at Kentucky.

Too bad LSU doesn’t come to Knoxville, because that would be a guaranteed win for the Vols.

Tennessee fans said all year that Skenes wouldn't even make their starting rotation.

Which is it?

To answer OP's question: they'll choke in their regional. Tennessee and choking are an iconic duo. Same as every other sport.

I mean he made the right choice by going to LSU. Of course we had 3 future first round picks on paper as our weekend starters heading into last season. So I mean he made the right choice by going to LSU over Tennessee. LSU needed him much more than we did on paper heading into 2023 season.

But lol at the idea that the vast majority of Tennessee fans were not tipping the cap to Skenes for playing like a MLB ace stuck in college baseball for one season all year long. Like yea, he is a monster obviously to anyone with functioning eyeballs.

I would love to see A&M and Tennessee match up in round two of the SEC tournament. I think TN is the best SEC team at this point in time ... a month ago would have said A&M

It's flexible.

Who?

Not a bad lil turnaround though for a team who started 5-10 in SEC play last year to still find a way to make it to the CBWS. Our second half season push was solid proof of the good culture and steady leadership Vitello has put into place at his Tennessee baseball program.

PS: 40-13

The way I remember it, LSU and Tennessee faced off in an elimination game where Tennessee threw one of their starters and LSU had bullpen pitchers starting.

And Tennessee got absolutely shut down.

I can stomach their uniforms much easier than I can their crappy posters.
