We played them last week. They didn't look like world beaters to me when we played them. If we got in Hill's face he would just throw the ball to us. I assume the same thing happened with yall?? They had a couple of garbage time td late against us, and their scores were similar vs the two of us. Just don't see how yall didn't put up 50+ on them if their D was on the field all night. For the record I didn't see yall's 2nd half. But I thought yall were going to kill them like 50 to 10 or something. Did yall play your 2nd or 3rd string qb in the second half or something?

State's Offense is a little better than ours, and our Defense is a little better than yours. It's not that hard to see...

State scored a TD or 2 more against TexasAM at home than we did at AM's field..

We held them to a TD or 2 less than State did, but we were at their field and State was at home.

The difference in our respective defenses is greater than that of the offenses.

Meh.

I think their offense is a good bit better than ours.

But our defense is a lot better than theirs.

The first string has scored more touchdowns than given up after 6 games. I think that's an impressive stat and certainly warrants a debate.

How many shutouts do you have? Alabama ended the year with 3, though it was basically 4 since Auburn scored twice on special teams.

Alabama gave up more than 10 points only 4 times (and one of those was against Auburn, who didn't even score on offense). You've already given up more than 10 points 4 times. Are you going to hold every opponent for the rest of the year under 10?

I don't give a frick, since we had the second string in halfway through the game. Y'all's second string may be better than ours, but that's irrelevant. I'd say the first string scoring more touchdowns than allowed is a more impressive stat than the third string allowing a few points when the game is already won.

Here are just a few:

These are through 6 games:
Points allowed: OM 64 LSU 71
Sacks: OM 11 LSU 12
Turnovers forced: OM 16 LSU 14
YPG allowed: LSU 289.0 OM 307.0

LSU's defense that year was amazing. There's no questioning that. I'm just saying the difference isn't as great as you insinuated

LSU played Oregon and West Virginia, two of the most explosive offenses in football that season. Also two conference champions.

I think we've seen that Alabama isn't some juggernaut offensively after what they did in Fayetteville yesterday. What y'all did to aTm yesterday was super impressive. While I don't think they are as good as the Oregon or West Virginia offenses in those two years, they aren't anywhere near a slouch.

LSU was more talented on defense. 7 of LSU's 11 starters on that defense are starters in the NFL right now. That's fricking ridiculous. Not to mention some other NFL players who were on that 2-deep roster.

That defense was unbelievably stacked and they lived up to their talent against one of the toughest schedules in college football history.

I agree completely. That LSU defense was the best I'd seen since Miam from the late 80's. The only point I was making is the difference between the two teams isn't as great as one would think.

It's certainly closer statistically than in reality. But it's an amazing defense nonetheless.

It's the best one in college football this season. At least it appears that way so far. And that's going to keep Ole Miss in every game and get them a lot of wins.

Can't wait to see it in person.

If only we still had Chief and Tee. But we may get Tee back sometime this season supposedly and that would be huge.

I'm planning to make the trip to BR. I really don't know what to think of the matchup. The strongest part of our defense is our secondary but I feel like y'all will run straight at us with LF. If we have a weakness on defense it's definitely stopping the run

LOL

Alabama and LSU's second teamers on those squads would make this LSU defense look like a bunch of pussies. Nobody came close to either of the two teams all year except eachother. And even then, there was about 10 field goals between the two in both matchups. This Ole Miss defense is good, but by no means could they even hold the jock of those two teams. Those were monstrous defenses.

I think Ole Miss is actually a decent match-up for LSU. Not saying we are going to win the game, but our weaknesses are certainly passing offense and rushing defense.

Although secondary is the Rebel strength, I doubt we test y'all through the air too much. And we are weak against the run, but you guys really haven't done anything impressive in the running game this year. At home, after a coupe wins in a row, our crowd and defense should be amped up against Bo Wallace.

Although Wallace finally won a game as a starter in a hostile environment last night, he wasn't asked to do too much thanks to the dominating Rebel defense. If he struggles a bit, LSU could be in that game till the end.

I can't wait. Will be a crazy atmosphere. Ole Miss coming to town undefeated against an LSU team that has won a couple big games (for us) in a row and is riding high with confidence. Likely the CBS national game.

Who have you played on the level of 2011 Oregon or West Virginia? Oregon was LSU's season opener; Oregon was coming off a national championship loss and had all offseason to prepare yet didn't do squat until garbage time. West Virginia put up a bunch of yards but struggled to score.

That LSU team would kill this year's Ole Miss team. Ole Miss can be run on by a strong between the tackles running team and Bro Wallace and Co. would get manhandled by that LSU D.
