Yes. But it's a different year, different QBs. Last year means nothing.

I think both teams are pretty equal. I honestly have no idea how the game will go. Both have balanced teams with great QBs. It's a toss up for me.

I haven't watched too many Clemson games this year...How is y'alls defense? what is their strength front 7 or secondary?

Clemsons defense is good but they give up big plays. They can never seem to pull away. They can get ahead 10-17 points, but teams find a way back into it towards the end. To their credit though, they haven't lost.

Our defense plays to the level of competition. When it's good, we play great. See ND and FSU. When competition sucks, they do the same, see Cuse and SCar. However Clemson still ranks high in every defensive stat. Our secondary is nasty, Alexander is one of the best corners in the nation. Our DL is great, Lawson is a beast. Our defense has also been beaten up as the season progresses, the long break is much needed. Our LB Boulware has been playing with one arm lately.

Interesting. Looking ahead a little bit if we end up seeing a Bama Clemson game it'll be very interesting. I have no doubt Bama can slow down enough to win the game. You definitely can't stop that offense though. They will put up points.

Im more looking on the other side of the ball. Our offense shouldn't really scare any of the other playoff teams. They are a good unit but can be stopped/slowed down. Of course stop the run and make Coker beat you. Easier said then done. Especially when we have shown that we will give Henry as many carries as it takes.

If it turns into a shoot out Bama is gonna have problems idk if our offense can keep up with that (though we did get into one with Ole Miss). I have confidence our defense will limit them enough to not have a shoot out though.

Specifically what about Clemson's run defense?

We let blowouts back in due to vanilla offense down the stretch.

Yeah vanilla offense lets the other teams offense score and get back in the game.

Not talking smack, but I feel good about Alabama if we play. We'll sell out to stop the run like we did in the ND game. Make Coker do something through the air against our great secondary.
Baker Mayfield and Perine scare me more because they're balanced.

I have a hard time seeing any of these games being a blowout

OU is a joke. Clemson will beat them by 2 TDs.

He's making himself feel better about Clemson choking 10+ point leads in the 4th quarter to UNC and South Carolina

Well of course not. I wasn't calling a blowout, I'm just explaining why teams seem to come back on us. A close game may end up being in our favor.

It's all good. You have a good team so I wouldn't expect any less than for Clemson fans to think they would win. Same goes for Alabama. As long as we can have rational discussions about the game then I'm all for it. I love posting here when you can actually have a good conversation regarding the game. Instead of just typical "were in your head bro" blah blah blah

But don't undersell this Bama d...

And ND and countless other teams. It's not making myself feel better. I don't need to, we're 13-0 in the CFP, no confidence boost needed. It's just reality.

Oh I'm not underselling yalls defense, they're great. I just think we have an edge against yalls offense. I don't see that against Oklahoma.

A lot of teams have sold out to stop the run and can't against us. And we have played a few really good Def. If you guys can stop 40-50 carries of Henry you deserve to win.

Florida has a very good front seven and Henry was running for 4 yards on first down just about every time I channeled-surfed by. That will eventually kill any defense.

To piggy back we have played 3 better rushing def, and in just general talk I'm not convinced Clemson can stop Henry on that many carries.

Well I'm not a crystal ball, I'm just saying how I feel. CJ Procise faced pretty good defenses, was held to only 100 yards against Clemson. ND is only 6 spots behind Bama in rushing, yet they're more balanced on offense. Dalvin Cook was held at about 100 yards after a blown 75 yard run. We've faced some of the best running backs and stopped them. At least they had a quality passing game to compensate. Elijah Hood is nasty too.
Neither of us know what will happen until the game is played, but I feel good about it.
