T - guess my concern is that he would have to turn Vandy into a Miami and not sure if it would be worth it to see a SEC team turn into that

Let's not go overboard on the qualification part. It's a bit harder, granted, but athletes aren't generally held to the same standards as the rest of the student body in admissions.

As for why they're transitioning, if you can get the bodies, it's a pretty effective defensive scheme, and Coach Mason can sell it as a good stepping stone to the NFL, where 3-4 players have a decent chance to be productive because they're already coached up for most pro-style defenses.

I don't disagree with that at all. It would be interesting to see, for sure.
