Well, considering how bad I felt in '08 when we had the most offensive skill position talent ever on campus but had to travel to LSU, face Bama at home, and travel to AU (not to mention traveling to USCe, UF winning the MNC, playing at Arizona St., and facing a decent Tech team at home), I feel pretty damn good about it.

We were scheduled to play Bama, but it was nixed after aTm and Mizzou joined. Plus, I thought there was a thread on here last year that clearly showed Bama and AU were the two that benefited from the conference realignment from a schedule perspective. We played them in 2012, which is well noted. We probably win that game if its Athens, lose if its in Tuscaloosa.

About the same way the Gumps feel about not having to play us since 2008.

I didn't feel so great about that 2008 game they're more fundamentally sound than Auburn and if we lined up against them last season it would have been steeper hill to climb.

Auburn had equal talent but as you saw multiple times last year they just quit playing football for 1 or 2 quarters in big games.

This year neither one of those chumps want any!

Why would we want to forget a year we won a crystal football? I assume the "1 game to be proud of" was the zero point, 92 total yard, five first down beatdown Bama put on LSU in the dome... amirite?

Why are you discussing LSU in a thread about UGA to a USCe poster?

Everything is always LSU with you

I would prefer a 9-game schedule, but then again, I have always wanted a 9-game schedule. Keep GT on the schedule, and then go with two cupcakes plus two off weeks. I am ok with that. With the playoff system coming into play and the bowls being reshuffled as far as conference affiliation, I am fine with having to drop a rotating good OOC game to get it.

I'd rather stay at 8, but implement the Roommate Switch schedule. That would restore it to a true league again.

We would have played another home and home since then, however the A&M/Missouri additions threw off the scheduling.

Too true. That's my favorite part of the roommate switch schedule, the fact that you play every team in the league every two years and at every stadium every four. Plus there's an option for a 9 game schedule in there as well (which I would prefer, myself... more good games and less shite competition).

I really want to play Bama as much as possible. As the "brand-name" team of NCAAF right now, Alabama provides an opportunity to measure your team against the best players in the league.

I'd argue that Missouri does that, but that would be a hilariously absurd thing to say

Better than we do about playing Auburn in their home stadium 2 years in a row. And yea, Bama definitely dodged a bullet now having to play us during the regular season.

Solid logic.
If you can beat 'em you can live off that win for quite a while, just look at USC
And if you lose, oh well they are a top team, you were probably supposed to lose.

They are probably more sanguine about it than USC fans.

The bridge schedules have been strangely designed tho - it seems like the SEC has avoided setting up some interesting games and hasn't done something more creative (like the roommate switch proposal) to sort things out when the conference is stuck at 14 teams.
