I'd give him a B+ only because I expected the defense to be better even with the dearth of talent on that side of the ball but outside that no compliants.

Good. He was a prime candidate to stroke out mid game

Much better than everyone expected

When expectations are as low as they are for USCe every year, it doesn't take much to raise an eyebrow...very McGregor like in his recent bout.

He's looking good, but I think a lot of it has to do with Bentley and less of his prowess

It's amazing what a talented QB can do for a coach.

So far, I give him an A- or a B+ grade. He definitely infused the program with some much needed energy and fire after Spurrier's last couple years of having one foot out the door mentality. I don't think any coach in the country could have led our team to better than 6 wins last year with the lack of talent we had on the field. Offensively we are making huge strides which I did not expect so quickly. The only ding I'd give him so far is that the defense hasn't shaped up as fast as I thought maybe he'd get them to, specifically on pass rush and strong db play. I'm certain he'll get them up to par in another recruiting class or two. If he can keep his staff intact for another couple years until he gets his players in place, I think he'll do very well and be here a long time.

His two long strikes and a kick-off return are what really did in NC, but seriously:

The other team holds you to less than 250 yards of offense total and tallies on 500 yards against your defense and I see grades of B+.

Obviously, the team won and that's great -- but NC State isn't some juggernaut, nor is it a good barometer. SC has some very hard games, and their defense looks porous (their quarterback mopped the floor with Muschamp's secondary) and their offense even with Bentley (easily an All-American) couldn't move very well. Two long passes for touchdowns from a talented quarterback.

I love football, it's going to be a fun year.

B- at best. We have lost two key players who we were leading.

Defense porous.

Lack of true go-to back. We are in the SEC.

Recruiting is c- by itself.

Do like T-Rob and the new o-line coach, Eric Wolford.

I do not like Kurt Roper.

Judgement reserved on Lance Thompson. If he doesn't get us some help on the D-Line and coach 'em up, I am for summarily firing him.

Lucky Bentley came home, or he would be Auburns starting quarterback right now!

Ummmmm ... you actually believe luck had anything to do with that? Seriously?

The most upset I have seen him at any point was when the headsets weren't working during the NCST game. And even then, there was no cussing, no contorted facial expressions..nothing like that at all. It's kinda odd how calm and happy he always seems.

And tbh, I know most of us were hoping to see at least one of his infamous fits thrown.

Even when Lammons fricked up the punt return (and he royally fricked it up) we, as fans, were far more irate than Muschamp was. He just looked like he talked to Lammons on the sideline about what had happened. I thought for certain we were gonna see him blow up then...but nope.

I noticed that too CG. He appears to have grown-up quite a bit ... he's letting his assistants chew arse.
