I like him, I've interacted with him a couple times around campus and he seems like a good guy. Definitely a cop's son. If he wins I think he'll be well liked and if not then I don't think it will be hard to cut ties in a year or so. All-in-all not overly polarizing one way or another. Not a Spurrier but also not a Muschamp.

Was this supposed to be in English?

I generally have a very good impression. So too, did I have of Lane Kiffin.
This year will tell the tale.
Watching the video of him meeting with the team for the first time - he definitely has a good philosophy.
Some people may not know that he fired the DC last year. I believe they had been together at 3 schools. Now we have what is uniformly considered a very good DC in Coach Stoops. So he was able to take what I am sure was a tough step rather than see how things go this year. That's a plus.
It is hard to imagine how the stars could line up for a better year than this one. I am sure he knows that.

In the short amount of time he's been here, he's rebuilt the program from a radioactive wasteland, flipped the roster, improved his team's on field performance every year he's been here, done everything you could ask for off the field, beaten every division opponent except Florida and taken a program that hasn't had a single player drafted in two seasons due to aforementioned roster to a top ten pre-season ranking - our highest ranking since Fulmer was coaching. He's aight.
I honestly don't know why this question is even asked.

He is very very meh imo. Not a good coach. Not an awful coach. Very forgetful and meaningless.

He is an elite program builder and the quintessential CEO type Head Coach. He needs very good coordinators to have elite level success and I think he has that now.
He isn't who I'd pick if I wanted to get a coach who can X and O with the best of them, but if he has great OC and DC's there may not be a better CEO style HC out there under 50 not named Dabo.

He is a Nick Saban lite imo. Has the work ethic but doesn't have the brass balls. He is damn close to building a winner at UT, but he is also damn close to having it fold up on him.
2016 is a big year for Butch and he will probably go 9-3 and lose the trip to ATL in tiebreaker scenario. Still getting better and making progress, so Vols can't fire him, but falling short of what they expected this year.

The Vols will start out 5-0. That seems almost a given.

Doesn't that usually mean they fricked half their high school football team?

I believe you're thinking of a preacher's kid.

Great recruiter + Poor game day manager = Great coach if he wins the SEC and/or MNC with superior talent
