Well that would be difficult to determine this season.

One of the big things that successful teams have to fight - the Urban Gator teams did, we have had to several times - is losing that sense of urgency. When you have been at the top for an extended period and you have roster turnover like colleges always do, it's tough to convince the newcomers of the level of sacrifice required to stay at that level.

Or dropping 3 INTs that if BAMA scores on one of them, its a double digit loss.

Are you implying that Bama really caught those INTs? The review just didn't get them right?

Easy. They choked. From the coaching staff to the players, it was an abject failure all the way around. A lot of sloppy, sloppy mistakes like a false start on a FG try, a fumbled handoff, etc. They played like dogshit and paid the price.

Refs and injuries are not the reason. Godawful execution is the reason. When you play that poorly, you have no one to blame but yourself.

Bama answered every score UGA made in the 2nd half. UGA gets a FG, Bama goes and gets a FG. UGA then scores a TD, Bama answers with one of their own. UGA scores again, Bama answers with the kneel down.

TLDR

UGA didn't score more points than BAMA.

Yep - pretty sure Georgia only had the ball with a chance to tie or lead 1 time in the 2nd half. And that drive started inside their own 10 and ended with the fumble. Alabama's offense answered every time Georgia's offense got it back to within arms reach.

Punts traded 15:00 to 8:51 3rd
8:51 3rd - UGA FG cuts 17-7 lead to 17-10
4:24 3rd - Alabama punts from UGA 45 up 17-10
2:14 3rd - UGA fumbles at own 11, recovered Bama
0:48 3rd - Alabama FG extends lead from 17-10 to 20-10
Punts traded 0:48 3rd to 10:16 4th
10:16 4th - UGA TD cuts 20-10 lead to 20-17
5:47 4th - Alabama TD extends lead from 20-17 to 27-17
2:52 4th - UGA TD cuts 27-17 lead to 27-24
0:00 4th - Alabama runs out the clock

Not really... ga had a 7 point lead, whittled to a 4 point lead, that became Alabama never relinquished the lead. It's pretty difficult to discuss Alabama trying to drive at the end of the game with ga leading by 3-10 points this season...

Yeah. That's why I said "dropping".
I'm implying that if BAMA doesn't gift those drops to uga, BAMA blows them out.

I should've known I was going to have to explain even the simplest concepts to you. Sorry I can't write in crayon.

27-24. The score didn't really show how much BAMA dominated. We were running clock conservatively up 20-10. Then the punt return gave uga a spark. But after that TD, BAMA got the offense cranked back up and drove right down the field for a TD. Uga didn't even cause one negative play (except for the tush push for 0 yards) or incompletion on on that drive. It was like BAMA's offense vs the practice squad in the 4th qtr after uga finally scored a TD since the 1st qtr. It was like a hot knife through butter on that Charmin soft defense. Just like the drive ending in the V-formation. Uga couldn't stop shite BAMA was doing when it really mattered.
Even Uga's two TD drives in the 4th qtr were aided by 15-yard penalties on BAMA. A PI on 3rd down and the facemask that would've been a 12 yard loss on 1st down.

But who didn't really see this coming? BAMA owns Uga. OWNS.

Pretty much sums it up. During the game, it felt like one of those Florida games from the early 2000s when we had the better team but still found a way to screw it up. Bad vibes. Just had a bad feeling the whole time that we'd find a way to frick it up.

Probably the least compelling championship game I’ve seen in a while. Neither team was very good and neither was impressive. Easily UGA’s worst team in 3 years with literally the walking dead limping around on offense - and possibly Bama’s worst team in a decade winning on pretty much the Saban mystique and nothing else. Kirby seems to be in awe with his coaching style while playing Saban. Both the 2018 and 2023 sec championships were his to win and he made several questionable coaching calls.

They got manhandled at the line of scrimmage

Defense obviously won Bama the game. The offense played horrible, under throwing every deep ball and a good bit of them were open. When it wasn’t there there were wide open check downs all over the place. Jalen also left 70+ yards on the field that ended in incompletions. Georgia should have won with how poorly Milroe played.

And yet you won by 3 points so easily could’ve won the game despite that.

Your incompletion alone on 4th down that should’ve been reviewed could’ve been the difference maker so clearly it wasn’t just complete domination on like of scrimmage or you would have won by more, right?

Hard to disagree and I dont wonder how much the choke juju can be attributed to the mere presence of a the Richt era coach Mike Bobo. This guy could never call a good big game as OC to save his life. Always always shite the bed in the big ones.

I mean who in the frick calls a fake reverse…an insanely higher risk play….at that spot on the field?!

They probably practiced that 100 times and never get a drop. Also that play was wide open and well blocked. It would’ve hit for at least 10.

Good call…poor execution.
