didn't have anything to do with their defense. If they had the defense last year that they currently have, it would have been interesting. Miles did slow the offense down. Mett absolutely blew the Ole Miss game, trying poorly to hit home run balls, while Hill was running wild......but LSU played at Georgia when Georgia was still healthy and lost in the last second....and then they lost at bama after being tied in the third quarter and collapsing. The Ole Miss loss was inexcusable...the other two they just lost.

I've been asking myself this all year watching LSU plastered all over the NFL and making plays.

An under-achieving defense and a couple of poor games by Mettenberger. Any of Mile's 5 best defenses coupled with last year's offense could have won it all. That's what so amazing about 'Bama's run, having better than average offenses every year to go with the great Saban Defense.

I'm late to this thread but I will toss my view in here. The reasons we lost as many games (10-3) as we did last year are due to:
1) Starting two inexperienced freshmen at CB
2) Welter starting at MLB
3) An experienced DL that underperformed
4) An inconsistent soft OL
5) Les
