Wait? Orgeron would have coached LSU for Red Bull money and a recruiting travel budget. But Alleva signed him to a 5 year deal with a $12 million buyout?

LSU literally had all of the leverage. What would Coach O come back with? He has a losing SEC record, no prospects, and he had 2 losses as interim coach. I know you have to probably do something for optics but $12 million? That is insane. Who in the hell thought that was a good idea?

Yeah, many of us were amazed and angered that he got the job in the first place, but that clause just shows the ineptitude of management at LSU. Why on earth would one need a buyout clause for a job they didn't deserve in the first place?
There should have been a clause that had Coach O pay back his weekly stipend for the shite show he produced last night.

When you have a chance to lock down a top ten coach in conference history, you go big to make sure you bring him home. Unfortunately for LSU fans, Alleva did not take the time to check and see what kind of list it was that Orgeron was in the top ten of before pulling the trigger.
