People say we were better towards the end of the year but I think we were at the same level all year, we just finally learned to finish out games.
We were so close to beating A&M and Alabama and the only games we really didn't play well in last year were Auburn in the first game and Georgia.

they played teams that were beat up at end of season

Their defense got to play the offenses of LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas. Those were probably the worst offenses of the non-cupcakes on their schedule. I'd say the offense probably stepped up more than the D did.
