Isn't "flagship" usually "The University of ______________"?
USCe has some positive characteristics. Frat row and the train cars at the stadium are cool. Most people there are really pretty cool on game day. Not a big fan of the area surrounding the campus or the stadium, which is way too far from campus, IMHO.

I know and you have better rivals aside from them but hell we have UK and Vandy as secondary historic rivals even though Bama and UF are our main rivals and I would say UGA and SC games are far more important and heated games than those two.
Yeah, they're trying to fit in but there is something to work with there. Before Fulmer and Spurrier there wasn't a UT-UF rivalry so new ones can arise.

College of Charleston is the oldest one in SC, and one of the oldest in the country but it is not the flagship.
a flagshiup is just the main college in a state university system. College of Charleston started out as a private school so it was never in play for flagship status.

the Vista isn't far from campus other than for UGA people.
i like Columbia a lot better than Athens.
