You can say this...but I'm not buying it. If it were a head coach maybe...but coordinators and position coaches...no. I think A&M fans here have made more threads about LSU's defensive staff search and hires than LSU fans have. But it's only about 4 or 5 A&M posters doing it...not all. And you know which ones you are.

Why? You had a defensive coordinator that lead the best defense in the SEC last year, and 3 top ten defenses in the last 5 years. You replaced him with the former Baylor head coach that managed one Big 12 win in four years. Not to mention he was such a good DC he wasn't even a DC he was a position coach. It's a terrible hire.

There are about 50 LSU posters on here that think the rant shut down because Aggie posters heard about Orgeron. As if that moves the needle for any of us. The delusion of the swamp kitten is one of the strangest things I've ever seen.

I think there's something to what you say, but it really isn't due to any anti-LSU animus. LSU is just a few years removed from an appearance in a BCS championship game, and has been one of the powers of the SEC West for some time. And the biggest reason for that status is the performance of the defense under Chavis. He's the reason LSU has been winning, not Miles. Losing Chavis is bad enough, but only getting Steele as his replacement compounds things.
(or it would if it wasn't clear by their actions that Alleva wants Miles gone w/in a couple of years, so he isn't interested in helping Miles succeed in spite of himself, making it harder to push Miles out. Alleva is more concerned about recruiting well in the interim, so that Miles's successor has enough talent to win. Steele/Orgeron will probably do a good job at this, so I actually think Alleva has a pretty solid long-term plan. It just won't be pleasant the next couple seasons.)

ETA: I will say after not knowing shite about Steele I did like his presser and they way he presented himself yesterday. His resume has some terrible moments on it, but they guy did seem to know football.
