Agree 100%. That whole university and athletic department has a CUSA/ Sun Belt feel to them. Its why you feel so much more shame when you lose to them than you do with any other SEC team.
Troy is a good comparison for State because it's one of the few college towns as awful and boring as Starkville.
The only thing separating State from Troy today is the fact that Troy began as a teachers college, and State started playing football early enough to luck into being a charter SEC member.
If Mississippi State wasn't invited to be an original SEC member, or if they had quit when Tulane and Tech did then Mississippi State would be in the Sun Belt or CUSA today.

That is a hell of a biased list seeing as it doesn't include KJ Wright, Chris Jones (one of the best young dlineman in the NFL), Dak, Gabe Jackson, Preston Smith, Pernell McPhee, oh and the guy who led the league in picks last year? Darius Slay?

Listen y'all have much better NFL pedigree, no denying that, but the gap is closing, especially why you look at the top. Cox alone is a more valuable and better NFL player than either OBJ or Fournette.

Claiborne has been graded one of the best corners in the NFL over the past 2 years. He’s been great on the Jets. Honestly completely forgot about some of the Miss. State players. Those names mentioned were good with exception to Dak (I’m a cowboys fan) I blame Garrett more though.
