Georgia looked more impressive. A&M's defense while improved still looked suspect.

UGA should be ranked #1 based off of this weeks results. A&M still has some question marks to iron out in the secondary, and the loss of Hilliard is huge for a young defense trying to improve on last year's debacle

But the offense... man, you saw the result of a QB who has been playing QB in the spread since he was a sophomore in HS. Hill ran the HUNH better than I've seen it in awhile. Doesn't hurt that he has an incredible OL, set of RB's, and set of WR's to distribute the ball to.

But defense still has a way to go, and Sumlin said Hill has a lot of room for improvement. Scary

Ok, so how can anyone but A&M and Georgia not be #1 and #2 no matter how you cut it?

You are also basing how good u think a&m and uga are on preconceived notions about Clemson and USC. Can't have it both ways.

Yea well we know Arkansas is shite so Auburn just seems average for not being able to put up 52 points like A&M did on the road.

Georgia is the #1 team in the country if we're keeping it real.

Honestly I don't think anyone deserves to be 1 after this week, but FSU gets it by default. I think rankings before week 4 are a little overrated

Agree with you. Georgia looked very good to me. Auburn looked pretty good. LSU beat a pretty good Badger team. Not sure what to think about Bama. I thought FSU looked reasonably good overall, their D was popping people. Okie St was much better than I thought they were. I think they are going to give OU and Baylor hell. Not impressed with Ohio St or UCLA at all.

I am fine with Ags in top 15 for now. Our shitty schedule won't show us too much for a few weeks but I am looking forward to seeing Cocks vs Bulldogs. This is our best chance to really see how we measured up with them.

Do these polls even matter any more? Maybe I am just confused, but I thought the committee was going to select 4 teams independent of the coaches and ap poll
Didn't the playoff committee hire an outside firm (a bunch of Vandy graduates) to analyze and rank the teams for them? Then the committee takes the firm's findings and comes up with "their" top 4 teams?

That's a better question. To me Georgia had the better all-around game, though both teams looked pretty damn good.

There's a lot of inertia in the rankings. Unless FSU and Bama are consistently unimpressive (or get beat) they'll likely stay top 2. It isn't right, but it has always been that way. Fortunately the playoff committee doesn't owe a thing to the AP or coaches' poll.

Because last season matters to the polls.

No. This season matters. The players out on the field right now matters. Last season don't mean shite.

I agree.
Not to take away anything from UGA., but they are getting a lot of publicity on the win over Clemson.
aTm's win was more dominant and over a higher quality opponent.

Not sure why there isn't a gush over aTm like there is over UGA right now.

If we're going to stupidly insist that we rank teams after 1 freakin week, how does anyone justify putting FSU at #1 over A&M?

Ahhhh shite we even have Draconian on our side.

UGA if any could make the claim. They looked solid in every aspect. They played close to what you would expect by season end with a good team. aTm looked good in some aspects others not sure yet. USCe I have thought all along coming into the season was over rated and even said on this site I see USC fininshing 7-6 at best but they may be lucky to go bowling if they play that way the rest fo the season with the schedule they have. Clemson may be to bu they also have huge let downs under Dabo at least once a season.
