This was expected, but still nice.

With the #4 recruiting class and all of the key pieces returning, A&M is going to fight for a top 25 ranking next year.

With Portis gone, and maybe Qualls, and with Kentucky losing 7 to the NBA, A&M might even battle to win the SEC.

Without a doubt A&M will be right in the middle of that battle. Some don't quite understand the talent the Sec Will have next year.

Some of you fricktards haven't been paying attention. If we are not top 3 in the SEC it will be a huge disappointment.

So you're football team and basketball team will soon have something in common

Yea, that would some solid logic if Arkansas and Kentucky didn't have big time recruits coming in.

and South Carolina. Texas A&M will be another NIT team, did they forget Billy Kennedy is their coach? I'm also going to laugh when Stansbury gets them on probation.

Lol. Your coach offsets the difference though.

I don't know why people are laughing at this, this is a very real possibility.

UK
UF
Arky
LSU
A&M

All could compete for the SEC next season.

Hell even Vanderbilt should be a Dark horse.

I'd bookmark this, so that I could bring it back up next season and call out all of those posters who are laughing at the possibility of A&M competing for an SEC championship in men's basketball, but I'm sure it will just be anchored anyway.

Agreed. You have to wonder if people even pay attention to basketball. There are a few teams next year that could give Kentucky a run for the money. And A&M is certainly one of them. But this is the rant where you can't have a decent discussion.

While most teams do battle to win the SEC (and 12 out of 13 will lose), aTm so bad they MIGHT battle to win it..

A&M was in 2nd for a good chunk of the season and took Kentucky to Double OT, the team lived and died with House and when he went down they faded fast. With House returning, very little lost from last year's team, and the addition of multiple elite talents it is not some outrageous comment that A&M could compete for the SEC Title. This is especially true with Kentucky having to do a complete rebuild, sure they will have great talent but it is no lock that they can just lose their Top 7 players and just roll along.
