I get it. You are bored. Kind of like the sociopathic kid that loves torturing insects when he could be doing his homework instead. Meaningful football is done until (at best) the SECCG so might as well troll LSU fans about their HC search.

By all means, continue.

Hint. I doubt CNS is talking about the LSU coaching situation right now.

The fact that you take this thread as a troll at LSU says more about you than it does about me. Seriously, that's insanity brotha.

Miles nearly lost to Mississippi State. MISSISSIPPI STATE!!

Follow the response bro. It was to Gary Busey. We are good.

And the funny part is, it is all true. It is the nature of this board to not talk football but to talk crap. It is that bizarre ritual that because I chose a football team at some particular point in life then that makes me a better person than you. Very little football is talked here. Just people working on inferiority complexes. My apologies for trying to improve upon it.

Enjoy.

No problem. I agree. And, I understand why the initial reaction to anything here is one of a cynical nature. That response is the correct one 95% of the time.

But, I try to generally post serious stuff. We all fall into the troll game every once in a while, but I seriously do hope for O, LSU and just because it's always fun for LSU to be in the Sugar Bowl that it happens.

miles or coach o

Same players. Under Miles, LSU lost to Wisconsin and Auburn despite only giving up one total TD in those games.

Under orgeron, LSU broke the single game rushing record twice; LSU's single SEC game yardage record; longest play from scrimmage record; and the yards per play and points per play mark.

He is doing this with a TE coach calling plays for the first time In a decade.

I'm not saying O should be handed the job now, just that your previous statement confirms that you are an idiot.

And that is why I said we are good. Seriously, I am an older guy (early fifties). This has reached a point of ridiculousness. I got it. Alabama is a power house. A unique talent that will possibly never be equaled in CFB. And CNS is probably the greatest HC in the modern era, maybe any era. And the chest pounding is getting old. I realize it is me, not the board. It is never going to get any better than this. Just the way it is. Just need to lower my expectations on real football talk (present company excluded).

Yea - I'm always good with witty banter and trolling in addition to good football talk, but the biggest problem on this board is most of the trolling/banter is sophomoric and just plain stupid. If you are going to troll, do it well or don't do it.

If LSU doesn't hire him, then he probably doesn't coach the bowl game. It will play out like at USC. New coach is named day after regular season ends, he gets pissed and quits before bowl game, interim interim is named for bowl game.

If LSU names a new coach the day after the regular season ends, it probably means you didn't hire a big name proven head coach and O won't be nearly as pissed as the LSU fan base.

In response to your OP, I hope he gets the chance to coach int he Sugar Bowl. I think we owe him that much. I don't have the expertise or insight to say he would be a good HC. But he loves LSU and the state of Louisiana. And that is a good thing.

Yup - that was kind of my thought process. Coaching LSU in the Sugar Bowl for a dude born and bred as a diehard Louisiana and LSU man.........that's about as good as it gets isn't it?

Triple Daves, I don't know if people don't follow the board enough to know when people are genuine or sarcastic...but I find you to be one of the best posters on the board...def the best bama poster. You don't troll...you generally try to talk football. i respect that and apologize for all the folks who are so used to everyone trolling every time, that they don't follow those that don't.

Agreed. A lifetime dream. One reason I had no issue when Michigan came around looking at CLM. I don't begrudge him the opportunity. Unfortunately it turned out poorly all around.

I think it would be awesome for LSU to go to the Sugar Bowl with Ed O. But I know that bowls prefer not to have the local team in their bowl game. It makes for bad occupancy rates for the local hotels. But, they still want to sellout their tickets too. So if it's the local team vs a team that isn't known for traveling well, then they'll usually go with the local squad.

So what if LSU loses one more? Would that put Tennessee in the sugar? Moot point because barring a complete meltdown LSU wins out easily.

I don't think a 4-loss SEC team is going to go to the Sugar Bowl.

I would guess
LSU beats UF, A&M : LSU goes to Sugar
UF beats LSU, FSU : Florida goes to Sugar
A&M beats LSU : A&M goes to Sugar

However, there is a chance that everyone ends up with 4 losses if LSU loses to UF or A&M, because UF/TN loses to Alabama in the SECCG. In that scenario I have no idea.
