I have nothing against either of them. Solid players.

I don’t see anything, so far at least, that makes them such overwhelming favorites to be the last two horses in the race. Stats are good, but not outliers, or even consistently at the top. Their teams are good, but not dominating.

I haven’t watched a great deal of games outside the conference. Mostly B1G because of where I live.

When Cam, Manziel, and Burrow won it, they clearly were game-changing players for that one season. I don’t see ANY players being that impactful so far this year, but that still doesn’t justify these guys being the only two names we seem to hear.

Flame away.

Matt corrals stats through six games are almost identical to Kyler Murray and baker mayfield during their heisman years.

Matt corral also was about to be the second player in football history to have a 230 passing game and a 200 yard rushing game this pst weekend. Sack yards robbed him from that. He basically willed ole miss to a win this weekend

I don't know what else Corral has to do to get the title "game-changer."

All 3 of those QB's beat Alabama when they won it.

Can’t really rely on stats all the time. For instance, looking at the stat sheet you may think Corral was just okay against UT when it was probably his best game as a Rebel. He basically single handedly beat UT. Ole Miss WRs had 7 drops on the night, including 2 open touchdowns on great bombs thrown by Corral.

Bryce is the starting QB on what is generally viewed as a national championship contender who is putting up pretty good numbers. That’s usually enough to be in the running.

That being said, I don’t view this as a heisman type season for him. At least to date.

Corral is Manziel like, probably will never be another one like Manziel but Corral is close. I say that because if you took Johnny Football off of the Aggies team those two years they would have lost at least 3 more games each season in 2012 and 2013.

You take Corral off of OM and they are probably struggling to get to a bowl game.

He is carrying the entire team on his back.

Young is a great qb but Bama is still going to win 10-11 games a year with or without him, you can insert a dozen qbs across the country and they would be front runners.

Just my view on it.

because there haven't been many individual performers separate themselves this year. The ones that have put up great numbers are from places like Pitt who just don't move the national needle.

Just my anecdotal take from our one game against them, but it really seems like that without Corral Ole Miss wouldn't be very good. I'm not sure there's a singular player that's more important to the success of their team than him. He's probably not the best player/QB in the country, but he's certainly one of the most valuable players.

Should that win you a Heisman? I personally don't think so, but I think Corral gets the hype because he's pretty much the only person that sticks out when you watch Ole Miss play.

Also, who else at this point? I don’t think a single player is more important to their team than Corral is to Ole Miss. What will probably prevent him from winning it is that Ole Miss is devastated by injury at WR/TE right now.

I think the biggest issue is no one sticks out like Burrow or Smith last year. There’s just a lot of blah this year.

IMO, the Heisman should be based on, “what would the teams record be without this player”.

Bama would probably be the same. Ole Miss probably loses to Arkansas and Tennessee.

Don't think Corral deserves to be lumped in with Young. Corral is a very good player on a very average team. Young is a place holder.

We get blown out against both teams without him.

What's going to be funny is listening to everyone bitch when Caleb Williams gets invited to New York only playing half the season. He is definitely a game changer. There are already people asking the question if he can win it only playing half the year.

Right now Corral should win it. Dude is fun to watch. Hope he can play this Saturday.

You can safely remove probably from yoy statement. Ole Miss is at best 3-3 without Corral.

#4 and #5 in the nation, and the leaders in the SEC. Young, in particular, is highly ranked and plays for a national title contender. Why wouldn't he be one of the favorites? You are aware how the heisman is awarded. Right?

edit: Young is also #4 in pass efficiency LINK

Ok then Hellen...

No one else really stands out and Corral has been a highlight reel.
