Mathieu, Claiborne, Simon are all 1st year players for LSU and they have excelled in their 1st year.

Claiborne is a true sophomore and played limited time last year so his progress is incredible. And the other guys are usually not playing the #1 or #2 wide receiver. Much tougher for Milliner to come straight out of high school and be the #1 or #2 corner back week in and week out than it is for Mathieu to come in and play the nickel. Not hating on Mathieu just hard to compare.

And Simon? He has played in 3 games this year with very limited playing time. Maybe you mean Eric Reid or Craig Loston who play safety?

Our db's are better today than they were at the beginning of the season. The struggle for us right now is inexperience, and we have had to depend on two first year starters (milliner and k-patrick) to cover the best receivers on the field for the other team.

Millner is a great cover guy, he is physical, but he does not always understand the call from the sideline. I think he will be a lock down corner next year... I personally see Dre getting passed by Fulton or one of the other young guys. JMHO

I think 75 to 80% of the game they play fairly well. However one or two blown coverages will completely erase that. In the two losses that has happened. They have blown 2 or 3 coverages that left receivers standing around all alone with no one near them.

ha, yeah, but he shut down Julio, and Eric Reid blew up that screen play, and Trex caused the interception, and Mo, well, the one time I remember him Julio got some serious separation.

Claiborne plays the #2 receiver every game but only Vandy and Bama threw at PP all year so Mo is basically guarding the main receiver every game.

Anyways, the big difference b/t LSU and Bama is pressure on the QB. Our CBs were left out to dry all last year by no pressure on the QB and it is happening to Bama this year. If Dareus could get in the backfield like Nevis and Fairley then maybe Swagpatrick and Milliner wouldn't look so bad.
