I hold all SEC fans in high regard. They are are fun yet intense group and intelligent group that loves football.
The fans that need to be incarcerated are the ones in Lubbock. 90%+ of them are one step out of Junior College and are mad because they were turned down by Texas and A&M. They are crazier than a bed bug.j

I've been to three games at Death Valley (none of which involved Vanderbilt) and I can honestly say I much prefer LSU fans who aren't surrounded by large groups of other LSU fans. There seems to be some sort of secret social dynamic at work where, in groups, LSU fans feel a need to put on spectacularly obnoxious and frequently aggressive displays of what I shall call, for the lack of a better word, machismo. Alone or in small groups, however, they're much like fans of SEC schools everywhere, fun and worth hanging out with.

I think a lot of you all are rather rude. But, in general, IRL, and not on gameday, I love every LSU person I've ever known.

My perception: no fan base has more urban legends surrounding it than the LSU fan base.
Start with the pejorative moniker "Corndogs". LSU fans in particular and Louisianians in general are not especially known for consuming corndogs. This is, however, true of Nebraska fans, from whom the term was stolen.
It was an Auburn message board who copied a post, nearly word for word, about Nebraska fans from an Oklahoma fan site. And then changed "Nebraska" or "Cornhuskers" to "LSU" and "Tigers".
Next up is the Piss Balloon Myth. The number of stories about them are legion. The number of actual occurrences are sparse. Piss Balloons are like UFO's...everyone has claimed to see one, few can offer evidence of their existence.
And then there are the wild stories told by other fan bases, of LSU fans descending in droves to wreck their towns. Like Barbarians at the gates. We LSU fans have heard them all, the best being the story of the LSU fan who stole a toddler's ice cream while her grandmother watched in horror. This was actually posted, in all seriousness, on an Oregon fan site.
The truth is, LSU fans are rarely in the news for anything other than their tailgating and their food. Opposing fans are routinely invited to share food and drink at LSU tailgates. I couldn't be more proud of LSU fans in this regard than I already am.
As far as our opposing fans, well we've had a drunk Auburn fan...if that's not an oxymoron...steal a truck and kidnap a woman in it. And that was a true story. Alabama fans...do I really need to go there?
I'll take LSU fans over any other fan base. We make the news for all the right reasons. And none of the wrong ones. We eat and drink well, and we don't mind sharing. We are all about having fun, and that's how it should be.

Honestly, they're too similar to A&M fans for me to like them too much or be too comfortable around them
I mean that in a good and a bad way.

This made me think of the Wildlings, when they crashed Castle Black on GoT.

I have been to tons of games at JHS. Have had season tickets for many years.
If you take the top 5 worst experiences I have had with opposing fans at JHS, 4 of them are with LSU fans.
The traveling fans are not great fans. I can not vouch for the fans at Tiger stadium because I have not been there.
Take it for what its worth
Like Lanier, I have had season tickets for years and years but at UA.
I share his sentiments. LSU travels well but they are the worst behaved traveling fans of them all.
I think this is an indicator that either more sidewalk LSU fans travel, OR that more LSU alumni are drunk crazy frickers.
That being said, I don't mind them for the most part just something that is hard not to notice.
On the other hand, I have been to BR for games and had mostly pleasant experiences. The worst "home fans" group that I've seen reside in Knoxville, TN.

Honest opinion, your fans believe you have the best player at every position, best overall groups by position and are better than every team they play - doesn't win games but the optimism is admirable. LSU fans hold grudges longer than any fanbase over the most minute things and play the victim even better than Auburn. Very contradicting in their opinions on message boards. In person, mostly loud and obnoxious for no good reason. Like to run in packs and feel safe in numbers.
That said, I really like LSU fans and my favorite game every other year is having you guys on campus - the best fanbase in the conference, outside of ours.

I generally get along great with them. They good people besides their wayward love for LSU

Just curious...is the entire LSU fanbase still banned from tidefans.com because of the 9-6 game?

Threads of late refer to LSU as crazy, out of control, in fighting, Sonny from Godfather nuts etc. Being a life long fan I see a bunch coon asses and rednecks that like to pass a good time and live for the day. Don't see the where it comes from. Maybe cause I am a fan I don't see it?
Flame away
Why do you do this to yourself? Is your self esteem that low that you need the opinions of others to validate? You're no different than the other Big Six fan bases. We are all pretty much the same. Just don't stop at the toll booth

So I have been to every SEC stadium and what's funny is the only time I have ever had a fan altercation was at JHS by an Auburn fan (female). It was the year cammy cam went in dry on our defense,

On here, some crazies . IRL, I've had good talks with LSU fans all over the country. Would love to get to BR for a game

So when LSU fans act up they are just living for the day but when we gently lay our testicles on someone's passed out head, we're somehow "the bad guy"?

To be fair, that was awesome. I mean, who hasn't wanted to see what GTA feels like in real life?
