Bama beats LSU in quadruple overtime on a missed two-point attempt. It is LSU's only loss. Alabama remains unbeaten and plays a two-loss Georgia team in the SEC CG. Georgia then whips the tar out of Bama.

So, you have a 1 loss LSU team in quadruple OT and a 1 loss Bama team that gets plowned by Georgia.

There are a LOT of variables I won't discuss here but which one has the better chance to go to the BCS NC? I say LSU jumps Bama to go to the NC.

In that case I don't think any SEC team gets in. I don't think they will let a team that didn't win their conference make it. Same reason we leaped over UGA last year.

I could see an at-large bid for one of them if they are high enough in the final polls before the selections.

Of course, BOTH couldn't make it because Notre Dame will probably win their eight games needed to be guaranteed a slot in the BCS.....

Let's assume Oklahoma is the ONLY team unbeaten left and that means Penn State loses to Ohio State and BYU loses to either TCU or Utah.

It boils down to USC, LSU or Ohio State.

USC's SOS sucks, so I doubt it.

Ohio State?... who the frick cares to see them in a third straight NC?

LSU would have beaten Florida, Georgia, & Auburn and a resurgent Ole Miss. The rationale being that Georgia has two losses and got owned by both Bama and LSU. They go to the Sugar Bowl, not the BCS NC.

I think it would be LSU.

then I think BAMA should go to prevent an argument between Gerogia and LSU...

...and because we are BAMA!!

If USC runs the table, it's a foregone conclusion they will be in. Gotta have that LA market. One loss SEC team and a one loss Oklahoma could be interesting. Depends on who loses first.

This system sucks.

The computers count for a third of the equation. I think USC would be ranked 2 in the human polls with LSU 3rd. In the computer rankings, though, I see LSU at #2 and USC no higher than #6, which, doing the math, puts LSU in the BCS NC.

If all of this scenario plays out, USC will be back at #1 in both polls with one loss.

Bama would be to far ahead of LSU for LSU to pass them. Plus if Bama wins in 12 ot's it wouldn't matter A loss is a loss. I doubt LSU would get in.

Dukke V - Pee Jay - whatever - you're always a Bama apologist and building them up. Why don't you admit it already? You're a closet Bama fan. Come out of the closet.

If LSU is #3 when they (if) they lose to Bama, AND under those circumstances, LSU would have three weeks to climb back up in the polls from #7 or #8 to #4 or #5. Bama would still be #2, but losing handily to a two-loss Georgia team which drops them below LSU. Missouri would be #3 or #4 and loses to Oklahoma. USC would be the other team, jumping to #2 in the human polls and LSU climbs to #3. If you look at the current rankings and schedules, this can be the case.

Of course, LSU could just as easily be in the same flip-flop position, beat Georgia in the regular season and lose to them in the SEC CG. Bama, with a lone loss to LSU would jump LSU then in the final polls to set the BCS schedule.

How am I building Bama up by saying IF and I mean IF they beat LSU they would go!!! Thats not my decision. I just believe that if you don't win your conf, You shouldn't go to the NC game so that means Bama wouldn't go either.

IMO, USC would play OU in that scenario. The pollsters would find a way to make sure that USC would be #2 in the BCS. As much as LSU or Bama would deserve it, I don't think either one would go because of not winning their conference.

Mark my words, the human polls will have USC at #1 to give them more leverage in the BCS if that were to happen. USC has to lose again for them to be completely out of the NC picture.

The computers don't care who wins their conference. I think USC's SOS holds them down if there are a bunch of 1 loss teams and a no-loss Oklahoma. A third ranked team in the human polls can overcome that with a #2 ranking in the computers if the #2 in the human polls is far enough down the computer ranking, like #5 or #6.
