Genuinely curious.

Wouldn't care really. Hopefully we wouldn't have to play them.

If that happened, A&M, Oklahoma and Arkansas would start getting the best Texas prospects.

Eta: LSU also

What are they going to hire him as?

His future is more likely to be in the NFL before college at this point.

First off: What is he getting hired for? Head coach? Hah.

Second: Didn't Texas just get done paying $400k to settle some sexual harassment claims? Not sure they want to invite that type of stuff back into their athletic department just yet.

I disagree. He burned his bridges to the NFL. His recent trouble in the college ranks isn't good, but he demonstrated that he's a great coach. Some college team will hire him.

I would congratulate them on hiring a quality OC and move on.

Exactly. Petrino left on his volition for the NFL, for two years, didn't work out, so he stepped backed down. The difference is the Saban situation has nothing in common with this. Outside of that...

I think he meant in terms of would Arkansas regret letting Petrino get away the way LSU supposedly wishes they still had Saban.

It's failure either way, but..........

As long as he isn't hired by someone in the SEC, I won't really care. He is going to win wherever he goes so it would be crushing to see him do it against us.

They are a minority but there is that segment, yes.

He may never be the same. He looked sickly at the UAB practice.

Do you remember the Mike Price (Washington State/Bama) situation? Ya, it will work something along those lines.

It will bea few years, but Petrino will get a head coaching job at a UTEP or Tulane type school.

He has already failed at the NFL level and the way he left Atlanta, do not see any truth in this statement

It wouldn't upset me as much as him going to UTenn. That would be crappier because we'd have to be constantly reminded.

But if he went to UT, I have no doubt in my mind they'd be a much, much better program than what Mack Brown's trotting out there. What Petrino did at Arkansas was no small feat and we have nowhere near the advantages UT has in terms of recruits.

Absolutely, if he don't coach in college then he better start combing high schools

Perhaps, but I think Petrino is ten times the coach Price ever was.
