didn't bash anyone. Tanny wasn't a great college qb. certainly a better pro.

complete opposite of manziel, I think he was a great college qb, but won't last in the pros.

He wasn't a slouch like you're implying. Come now.

not at all. may be a bit hyperbolic with my post. but he wasn't the world beater a previous poster made him out to be.

I didn't interpret any of the previous comments as characterizing Ryan Tannehill as a "world beater."

To each his own, I guess.

No one said that. CGSC simply showed that A&M has had a string of capable QB's, debunking the OP's sentiment that our QB play should be "awful."

How'd Tennessee do after Peyton left?

Kenny Hill is Tee Martin.

ops premise had nothing to do with capable qbs though. it had to do with great qbs.

No, it had to do with A&M necessarily being in for 2 years of awful quarterbacking simply because a great QB departed.

Which, of course, is silly to suggest, given that A&M has had very solid signal callers for quite some time now.

Not a single Aggie said Tannehill sucked; on the contrary, he was a great QB for us. No one said otherwise.

He isn't an Aggie.
He's an outed horn.
Sorry. Thought that was common knowledge.

Tanny was a very serviceable, if not "good" QB.

His replacing of JJ midseason tainted his Jr. year from looking better. and the third quarter play of the entire team tainted his Sr. year.

I don't blame him for his Senior year. Calling deep pass plays when we're up 21 and putting him in spots where he felt the need to pull off a miracle was on coaching.

Just a really bad opinion.

quote:

If Kenny Hill puts up similar numbers/wins......doesnt that sort of take away from "JFF's mystique" sure no one has ever been the playmaker JFF is

If Kenny does well it means Kenny is good. It has absolutely nothing to do with JFF.
quote:

Doesnt that mean Sumlin truly has a system that helps QBs put up big yards?

There isn't a doubt in any informed person's mind that JFF is anything but a system QB.
quote:

If A&M's QBs/team struggles....I think that adds to JFF's legacy. He truly was all they had.

No it doesn't. It just means the coaches didn't do their jobs.

I would not mind if you never posted again.
