Is this since the poll was created or another timeline?

Since 1936 for the above... but we can discuss all-time as well

It's all good. I was just curious if it was from the start of the AP poll or not. It doesn't seem like it's that much stronger considering it about one extra game every 3 years.

Is this most games vs a team that finished in the top 25? If so, does that necessarily mean that a team had a tougher schedule than someone else? What if one of the teams below Auburn or LSU for example played more teams that were ranked in the top 5 or top 10?

Alabama can't play themselves, and they've finished ranked in the final AP poll more than the rest of you peasants. Run the numbers and you'll find the discrepancy there. Take out Auburn from Bama's numbers and take out Bama from Auburns numbers and I'd wager that the numbers are near even, if not higher for bama

And Auburn can't play Auburn but they do play both Alabama and Georgia every year.

Scheduling creams puffs and cupcakes has long been a proud Alabama Tradition and a chief reason why their win totals are so high.
Georgia like cupcakes too!
1936 to present huh! Good Work!
Added : Would be nice to see the program wins (over mostly cupcakes) in parentheses

Oddly roundabout way of saying the best team in the SEC is Alabama, boosting everyone else's numbers.

Yep. We just used the AP Poll as a metric to kickoff discussion.

A&M, LSU, and Florida are the only teams in the Top 6 for both metrics.
The big six is, now, the big three.

I can't take any metric seriously if it includes pre-WWII data.

We are open to any additional angles. Throw it out there and we’ll put the team to work.

If they can't play themselves how do they manage to beat themselves, Mr. Smartypants?
