This year's Missouri defense was one of the best in the country. Something to be proud of.

LSU had the #1 offense in the country.

With a defense close to what Missouri had, the country would be watching LSU play on Monday night for the National Championship and that is the standard demanded by LSU fans.

Only Bama has won more Natty's in the past 20 years than LSU. Kelly had to hire the best available and he did.

Be thankful your HC is still in Columbia. He's a good one.

It wasn’t

We were #34 in total D. Gave up 50 to LSU and 30 to fricking Florida.

Baker is only at LSU because his wife made him take the job.

You did us a favor. Now we can go make an elite hire instead of paying elite money for pretty good. Drink made Baker. He went from failed DC, to fired LB coach, to the highest paid assistant in the country all because he coached under an elite coach.

Guys will literally be lining up

The only reason LSU did not loose this game is the 2 turnovers. Almost double the passing yardage better. MO has a very good coach and looking at recruiting your defense will be lacking again.

I’m sure as well, but only 100% sure, not 1000%.

This might be hard to understand for some of you.

There would be people lining up just to be an SEC coordinator.

Now factor in Mizzou’s willingness to pay top dollar for a good assistant.

Now factor in that the roster is in ok shape on defense and really good on offense.

And factor in coming to coach for the SEC coach of the year who just got extended making his job security better (and thus the coordinator’s job security that much better).

To sum up, we will have a very qualified applicant pool from which to hire.

I like most Mizzou posters, Jesus is just going off the deep end a bit over this DC thing.

This seemingly unfortunate departure of Mizzou's DC to LSU is an opportunity for Drink to sell the Mizzou program to either a proven DC or a up and coming youngster who wants to prove himself in the SEC.

At the risk of making rational posts on the Rant:

Maybe we will and maybe we won’t. Drinkwitz has overall made good hires. Wilks was not one of those.

You take a swing based on the information you have and then fire when it doesn’t work out, renegotiate when it does.

You never know how anything works out, but on paper we will.

We have an elite budget, a possible playoff team returning and a head coach people want to work for with substantial job security.

We will hire a guy with a better resume than Baker. Absolutely

I have penciled in either you or Ole Miss or both. Drink is doing good work in CoMo.

We could.

Or Drinkwitz could simply move up the co-defensive coordinator who came over with him from App State.
