Heupel would be a moron to leave a budding dynasty in the SEC to go fail in the NFL like pretty much every other star college coach who does it. I seriously doubt he does that.

His system would not work in the NFL. I'm sure he knows that.

I'm genuinely interested in seeing his system next year, without Hooker. And that's not intended as a knock against Heupel in any way - the system may indeed work with another QB. I just think Hooker is that good.

I agree with that. That system only works if you have the right QB.

He flashed none of this in his time at VaTech. And he wasn’t recruited by Huepel, Joe Milton was the QB Huepel recruited and started to Tennessee. Milton isn’t the threat to run like Hooker but the freshman Jackson and top recruit Nico are both run threats. Milton has the measurables and experience and time in system to get the start next year without a significant drop off. And the Vols have done well recruiting Oline and WRs to keep the machine running.

Like I said, what that offense does with the next quarterback will be extremely interesting. If it works, as you say ? Then it will fundamentally change how offense is played at the college level. To the point that substitution rules and injury rules may change.

Our biggest QB recruit since Peyton Manning is rolling in next year as well as a true freshman. He will probably redshirt.

2024 will be another national championship run if he and this 2023 class lives up to the hype.

2023 is kind of a mystery year though.

Milton certainly has all the physical tools needed to be a Heisman candidate and first round draft pick. I'm not convinced he has that special "it" factor needed though. Guess we will see. Sometimes with guys like him, the lights just come on out of nowhere after extended time in a system like Heupel's.

Did we ever have big game Josh as our coach and Danny White as our AD during those 25 years???? No. So stfu.

No one is giving our new AD enough credit. What he has done with all 3 of our big men's sports teams is nothing short of amazing. We are in great hands. This man made UCF relevant on a national stage while he was there ffs.
