He has done a good job resurrecting that dumpster fire in Knoxville.
He is from South Dakota which is close to Nebraska so family and friends would be much closer.
Plus he could win the Big 10 West every year and make the Conference Title game...Wisconsin is really his only threat...I know Minnesota and Iowa have winning records annually but they are really the "Ugly Girl at the Prom" that ends up in someone's backseat as a slump-buster.

Why the hell would he do that

He’d be the biggest moron on the planet if he left what he’s building at Tennessee for Nebraska.

He could win the Big 10 bc he has Tennessee at 3-0? Hmmm interesting that with this sample size, he could could make Nebraska a contender, so easy really

He staying put. He just got a raise and extension. His entire coaching staff have received raises as well. And he has already said the atmosphere at UT is the best GameDay experience he has ever been a part of. Nebraska has no chance in Heuple.

Sounds like Nebraska is an easy job.

The only way that fat frick leaves UT for Nebraska is if Lincoln has more fast food drive through chains

What every it takes Nebraska, do it. If you have to hire a coach with a mask and a cape, do it!

Absolutely not. Heupel has it made at Tennessee. Good NIL system and easier recruiting. He’s making progress. Same for Stoops at UK. Both teams have potential. Any potential HC would demand Nebraska to open their pockets by large margin to jump start their NIL to help with recruiting and I don’t know where Nebraska stands with that. Nebraska has to go all out to play catch up or stay at the bottom.

Arrogance?

Nebraska is a dead program in a wasteland of a state. You aren't pulling Heupel or any coach from the SEC

Matt Rhule is who Nebraska will go after, but rumors have it that Rhule hates the BIG.

Definitely an upgrade for him. Would be foolish not to consider it.

I'll bite. What, exactly, is he building?

Why other than being out of the SEC?

Because he has no chance of seeing a Conference Title Game in the SEC. Georgia on one side and Bama on the other...not happening...
Big 10 West brings him an annual chance at the Conference Title and the Playoffs...

I too am confused as to what he is building??
They had a mediocre year last year and have done nothing so far this year that looks awe inspiring.....
