I'd rather have a coach that doesn't lose to Navy and SMU. Do Not Want Herman.

If Herman did come to College Station, there would be 10,000 walk-ons all trying to get a kiss.

He would be a good fit with all the male kissing and such.

I started this thread earlier but nobody wanted to indulge. Other schools can't compete on this front

Herman has his eyes set on the LSU job as do most coaches in the country.

Naw, there is a mile between his desire for the Texas job and any others. Has more to do with his personal history vs anything else, but that's where it stands.

I'll say it again tho.. I can't see A&M or Texas firing their HC this year based on money. The total tally on Sumlin & staff would be $20M & that is an almost impossible tab to cover right now. Herman's circle claims luke warm reaction to the A&M as well.

As for TX, by default it's money as well. Prez Fenves @ UT has W-L's far down his checklist of priorities & the AD is both new & semi interim to a degree. It would take a hell of a leverage by a donor to move Fenves off the fence & I don't see/hear any of those moves in the works. Too early to tell in reality.. joe public that we are gets those reports further down the line.

These coaches contracts are getting large & more importantly the language in the contracts is making it difficult to sweep w/out getting hammered on cost.

Long story short, if I had to put down a bet if Herman was to move this year it'd be LSU by default & that's one hell of a "default" oppty job to say the least.

I personally think that Herman's best option is USC if Helton doesn't get the job.

As opposed to the coach we currently have who would lose to Rice quite often while at Houston.

He signed a 5yr contract.

Lulz at Aggies not wanting Herman but they made a thread about hiring Miles

The last two "national coaching searches" ended up going 90 miles SE and interviewing one candidate.

You'll have to excuse my reticence to hiring ANOTHER coach from Houston.

If Alleva hired Orgeron after having two months to work on this and Texas A&M hires Herman with one week to work on it, I'll lose my mind.

A&M isn't firing Sumlin

especially not when he had them in the top-10 until his QB got hurt

Just seen this on ESPN. They said Texas will not fire Strong. He likely has one more year there. They said if A&M loses to LSU. Sumlin is probably done. And Texas A&M would be in pursuit of Herman. Side note : Pollock said, "Bye Felecia." This post was edited on 11/18 at 1:04 pm
