I'm an Ole Miss fan and I can assure you I am embarrassed by all of this. I also don't believe all the sugar coated lies coming from our administration. We have no one to blame but our administration.

And when Ole Miss sticks with the line that this has nothing to do with the investigation that they are already singing, the NCAA will take the scorched earth approach.
If only Bjork had said that Freeze mislead them all and piled on, then your softer scenario would be possible.
