Texas has fired every head coach they have had in my lifetime. To include DKR and Mack Brown (Being forced out is the same as being fired).

Maybe, just maybe mind you.. Our big money doners might have an Ego problem.

The problem is that Fisher hired an OC and didn’t change anything. The OL was atrocious and no changes made. Second year in a row that the starting QB suffers season ending injury. Fisher stagnant, and actually regressing each year …

And the recruiting class was falling apart because the kids didn’t believe in Fisher anymore. It is that simple

We've tried to fix a lot of head coaching issues with coordinator hires as well and it rarely works. It's just putting a Band-Aid on The gushing wound that is the head coach.

Meanwhile , sitting on the east bank of the
Red River is the man who brought his old pal Jimbo
to A&M. After fleeing to LSU , he
threw an even larger ton of money to lure him
to Red Stick, only to be turned down by Jimbo.
Is Woodward one lucky dumb arse or what ?

Jimbo doesn’t recruit for A&M.

A&M’s money recruits for A&M. They have facilities that make NFL teams jealous. They pay their coaches insane amounts of cash and can put any amount of coaching talent together they want to buy.

This is some of the most delusional shite I've read around here.

They THINK they understand this, because they have experience with Alabama and Auburn. Given the size of the universities and the resources available to the alumni, that little rivalry is a firecracker next to a dynamite explosion.

and you will continue to have the program culture problems that you have had because you have to overpay mercenaries that dont want to be there

God damn me for having to defend the Aggies but I'm going to say it how I see it.
You're absolutely right but eventually they're going to find that coach that does want to be there and does know how to manage a bunch of high priced egotistical players. When they do look out.
And then we will go through the cycle of hiring overpriced coaches to try to catch up. It's just what Texas and Texas A&M do. When one gets ahead the other spends a fortune to catch up.
The Aggies are playing catch up now but if they find that coach we will be the ones playing catch up in the future.

Yeah you're right. It's a constant battle between the two schools to get ahead and it costs a lot of money.

And has this ever worked out for either of you? Texas A&M is mediocrity personified and Texas has had one 10-win season in 13 years. Both of your programs suck, your cultures suck, and there are deep rooted cultural problems that are preventing both of you from getting over the hump.

Your analysis was a complete oversimplification and I guess people in Texas are just too stupid to see the bigger picture and understand why neither UT or A&M are nationally relevant? There are legitimate reasons for that, which I’ve pointed out here many times, and y’all just choose to ignore them thinking that you’re going to money whip your way into success even though that hasn’t ever happened and will never happen.

It’s a travesty that two major programs in the most talent rich state in the country, with good budgets, with a bunch of other resources, are so consistently pathetic at football. When are y’all either going to change or just give up?

An LSU fan calling someone else stupid is fricking priceless. If you had even a rudimentary level of reading comprehension you would clearly see that both Texas and Texas A&m fans have said countless times that the big money guys are part of the problem.

It’s funny the amount of jealousy A&M’s money creates with all these hillbilly states in the SEC.

We will get there, I’m not worried. LSU was nothing as well not too long ago, if that trash of a university can accomplish it, so can A&M, because A&M unlike LSD has the pockets, we just need to change the mindset.
That can be done with the right personal and right hires.

So all you poor can suck it!! Last week it was A&M can’t afford to fire Fisher lolololoool, today the goalposts have been moved by the same idiots that said we couldn’t afford to get rid of him.

Law of Diminishing Returns.

Ultimately, it was going to cost you more over the long haul to keep him. Y’all just ripped off the band-aid.

Did you ever wonder what it is about running a successful oil company that makes a man think that he is competent to select a football coach?

Arrogance. When no one ever tells you no you think you can do anything. It's a bigger problem for us than it is for you but it's a problem with both universities athletics programs.
Mack Brown was not a great coach but he was great at managing the boosters and that's why he was successful. He was smart enough to let the coaches coach while he managed and massaged egos everyday and it's the one thing we've missed greatly since he left.

My theory is that as far as most undergrads and recruits think, they generally prefer going to study/or play football in Austin than they do at College fricking Station.

So the TRUTH is that no matter the resources, any expectation that a coach at A&M will be able to overcome that slight disadvantage, let alone the disadvantages they have compared to a handful of other SEC schools, is too high.

You can get lucky in a great coaching hire to cancel the disadvantage out. But don't overpay.

I'm sorry I don't buy this at all. If location mattered then Oklahoma wouldn't be one of the most storied programs in college football history. There is no reason at all that A&M shouldn't have a great football program. Obviously it's great for us that they haven't been able to put it together but let's not kid ourselves in thinking that's always going to be the case.
