Totally taken out of context. He was speaking highly of the SEC and added this at the end of his commentary. And he's right.

I hereby declare that I own that Oregon stomped Tenn. Is there something I need to do about the Ole Miss win over Texas.

Oregon 2013 is better than Oregon 2011

Thank you! It's night and day. OMG I am so tired of hearing about 2011. It's 2013. Turn the page people!

Yay for Oregon and all that good stuff, but let's be honest, bud. Tennessee is nowhere near what it used to be and is NOT a top program in the SEC right now. Lots of potential is there, but this team is shite.

I said before that I think Oregon would be a top program in the SEC. The only programs that I think are better right now are clearly better are Alabama and Georgia. Oregon is at least on par with or better than many of the other programs.

Take it for what it's worth.

Kirk Herbstriet said the ENTIRE SEC needs to own the Vols loss to the Ducks last weekend

Of course he said that. It's fashionable to question the SEC this year. And, it may just be valid, too. Cut and paste from a post I made last week, with updates for last weekend's games:

SEC vs. BCS AQ league OOC (* indicates currently ranked team):

South Carolina*-UNC: WON
Miss. St.-Okla. St*.: LOST
Alabama*-Va. Tech: WON
LSU*-TCU: WON
Auburn-Wash. St.: WON
Georgia*-Clemson*: LOST
Florida*-Miami*: LOST
Kentucky-Louisville*: LOST
Tennessee-Oregon*: LOST
Ole Miss*-Texas: WON

So that puts the SEC at 5-5 vs. BCS AQ league teams (also have a loss to mid-major WKU by Kentucky). Note that four of the five wins have been by ranked SEC teams against unranked OOC teams, while the other featured unranked teams from both conferences. Against ranked OOC BCS AQ teams, the conference is 0-5 so far, despite the fact that the SEC team was ranked higher going into two of the games.

Upcoming, with projected results (* indicates currently ranked team):

Arkansas-Rutgers: Toss-up
Missouri-Indiana: WIN
South Carolina*-UCF: WIN
Vandy-Wake Forest: WIN
Georgia*-Ga. Tech: WIN
South Carolina*-Clemson*: Toss-up (slight underdog)
Florida*-FSU*: Toss-up (slight underdog)

That projects to 4-0 with three toss-ups, but the SEC is a slight underdog in two of the three tossups. Assuming 1-2 in the tossups, that's 5-2, added to our current 5-5 for a combined 10-7 vs. BCS AQ leagues, plus the aforementioned loss to a Sun Belt team. Against ranked OOC BCS AQ teams upcoming, we are projected 2 tossups with the SEC team being a slight underdog in both. Even assuming a split of the tossups, we would supplement our current 0-5 record vs. ranked OOC BCS AQ opponents with an additional 1-1, for a final slate of 1-6.

That is not the stuff that will get a one-loss SEC champion into the NC game over an undefeated Louisville, and maybe even a one-loss Clemson or FSU. And forget about a one-loss SEC team getting in over an undefeated Oregon/Stanford, Clemson/FSU, Ohio State/Michigan or Big XII champion.

Yeah, makes no sense. Did the entire SEC need to own UF's loss to Louisville last year? Didn't stop Bama from claiming the title, and uga made a pretty good case to be 1b.

Eventually Oregon was going to play enough SEC schools they would find one they could beat.

Would LOVE to see Oscar Meyer's Fighting Herbies in Scarlet from Columbus Ohio make the BCS Title game this year just so I can laugh at them once again losing by multiple touchdowns to any team they play.

Note to ESPN: Urban is a FRAUD

I mean, Ohio State finally beat an SEC school a couple of years back. Thankfully, we didn't have to own it because of some sweet arse tats.
