Every game I watch, I see 50 helmets pop off a game... what the hell is going on? It doesn't seem like this used to be a common occurrence...

And helmet to helmet penalties... While i do like the rule... protecting the players.. however many times I've seen Defensive players trying to pull off to avoid it and they still get called for a little tap.. Yet if they pull off too early and the guy keeps the ball or lowers his shoulders hes going to get juked or ran over... it's quite annoying...

The media asked Corch about this recently and he said that our guys were not using all the straps on the chin strap because it was uncomfortable. He also said the straps were too loose.

Well alot of them are the Revolution helmets that are getting pulled off....When i was in school i had a Revolution helmet and they slide on and off so easily compared to older helmets.

But mine never flew off because i had it on tight. But with the older helmets they were harder to take on and off so you didnt have to have your straps as tight.

It seems like now they are wearing the new helmets but are also wearing the chin straps loose.

That's strange I guess comfort over safety in a lot of their minds... I just remember when I played as a LB... the last damn thing I wanted was my helmet to come off mid play or to even slip and bust my nose or some shite.

Ahh didn't know that.. I never even tried the revolution helmet... I just stuck to the same thing I'd been using since pee wee since I was already used to it.

yeah it was awesome. My senior year of HS my school got its first shipment of about maybe 5 of them. I was one who got one. They made the game so much nicer. Once they are on they fit real snug and have real good support. But you must have chin strap tight. As soon as you un buckle them the helmet slides of like a hot knife through butter

Most of them that pop off have dreadlocks underneath them. Make them do something with their hair and you want have that problem.

Tuscaloosa News just did an article on this subject. Sounds like the players are not connecting both the straps because they don't like the feel of it.

My son wears the Revolution "Speed" helmet and with the double snaps and ability to inflate the Z-PADS etc I think it makes it extremely difficult to pull off etc.
