UMass and UAB are definitely a little iffy but there's nothing wrong with a road trip to BYU.

Agreed. If the Big 12 wasn't a bunch of pussies, they'd be a P5 team by now. Traveling there is much different than going to UAB.

Anyway, State does 2 for 1 games with their cupcakes so that they don't have to make make the huge payouts like other SEC teams do
Even though every SEC team gets large payouts from the conference, State is still at a financial disadvantage with most of the conference because they lag behind in endorsements and merchandise sales
It's a sound business decision and a decent policy for MS State, levels the playing field financially
A few other SEC teams do this as well, but not as much as State
