Shaw shouldn't be on that list. Kid is overrated.

Agree with the rest.

Did you bother looking up any stats before posting this?

The scores are on an ever increasing pace. Seems It's not premature, because It's already occuring.

Alabama allowed 42 points last week. A saban lead team played that badly on defense. I mean it was insane how easy they made it for Manziel to throw on them.

saban picked his poison and decided to limit the scrambles and runs, played mostly man in the secondary. when they rotated belue over to evans that shut him down for a while (with belue on him he had 1 catch and 1 offensive pass interference called on him). belue went out at 35-14, and we know what happened then. But we did enough defensively to win, and im pretty sure that nobody else's defense would have done much better on saturday.

Good qbs. Young Ds.

The defenses will get better as the year progresses.

Does This have anything to do with it I wonder?

The SEC had 35 defensive players, 27 offensive players and one specialist (Florida PK Caleb Sturgis) drafted last week.

Only one SEC quarterback was selected this year after none were picked in 2012. Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson went to the Raiders in the fourth round on Saturday.

The SEC's ledger also was light on offensive interior linemen with eight (four guards, three tackles and one center).

The SEC sent 13 defensive linemen (seven ends and six tackles), 12 defensive backs (six cornerbacks and six safeties) and 10 linebackers into the NFL during the 2013 draft.

Seven running backs, six wide receivers and five tight ends were picked from SEC teams.

Yes I did. I looked up the ole miss vandy game where no one could tackle. The shoot out in both Georgia games, a sixty point lsu game vs another "defensive power", Bama and aggies going over 90, Tennessee allowing 63 points.

For all those asking for evidence. I'd suggest turning on the television when the games are played.

I don't see Florida giving up more than 4 touchdowns to anyone without their offense playing into it. IF Florida's offense played flawlessly, then I don't see anyone eclipsing 20 versus Florida.

Florida and LSU haven't played an offensive powerhouse, so you should save your comments until you guys are finished with the Georgia game. We'll observe the yardage too.

I didn't know this was a UF specific thread.

This post is premature because if I remember the Bama game correctly there were a lot of guys playing defense for Bama that were getting there first meaningful minutes in a game against a quality opponent. I saw guys making correctable, mental errors on defense for Bama. I saw some questionable calls go against Bama's defense. I saw Bama playing against the best WRs in the SEC since UF had Hernandez, Murphy, Cooper, and Harvin. I saw a lot of promise in Bama's defense. I saw the most athletic defense for Bama ever under Saban.

Second, I think Alabama ended up over preparing in a way. I think Alabama's defensive players looked tentative and like they were thinking about things so much to the point they didn't play fast or instinctively at all. I know Saban wanted them to play disciplined, assigment football, but I think they had a little paralysis by analysis going on. Alabama's defense will be fine.

I agree with this. But, I think it was more on Saban. I think he over-analyzed this game to the point that he gave TOO much credit to Manziel. It put our CB's at a disadvantage and gave Manziel all day to throw.

I thought bama should have played zone. Would have been easier to contain manziel and don't rush in on him. Florida and lsu did it last year I believe and i swore bama did as well after the first then regressed back too man. I was at work so it was hard to tell but it seemed like when i saw bama in zone, they were more effective. Could have been a man zone combo too though I was far from the tv just trying to follow the defenders which isn't easy from my desk.

Hard Uf just held Miami too 214 yards and 62 yards in three quarters. Pretty good start.

Georgia? Their offense is not effective with Murray vs Uf. We had five turnovers and still held them to 17. Aggies? Saw their offense, 62 second half yards and shut out. Florida is one of the few still playing it solidly, we just can't play offense worth a crap.

I'm not denying that Florida may be the best. I have acknowledged repeatedly that Florida had the best defense last season and may have the best again this year. I've also acknowledged that Murray hasn't played well versus y'all, but Florida and LSU can't deny that Georgia will probably be their defenses' toughest test this season.

And that's where you would be wrong.
