Sumlin is going to the NFL after this year. His stock will never be hotter.

They aren't a top 25 team without JM but I like Sumlin and think he'll get more talent in the next few years.

Also Bama put up 49 points on that pathetic D, which should have been 56 and Bama's offense is no where as good as last year

And you come to that conclusion how?

will soon field an above average-great defense. Give him 1-2 years. We are about to have some awesome commits on D here pretty soon.
Been hearing the same shite from Ole Miss and Miss State for the past 10 years.

LOL I'm sorry but when your offense scores in 30 seconds and your D is on the field most of the game, they are going to be horrible. A running team that has drives of 7 minutes plus and keeps aTm's offense off the field will easily beat them.

Well, someone gets it.

A&M can get all the horses they want on D, that offense is going to run them into the ground. Unless Sumlin adjusts his philosophy to include getting and stopping short yardage, and being able to maintain control of the clock, he is never going to win a championship in this conference.

Even a player as amazing as Manziel can't make it happen. Sumlin will either modify his system, or have to find another conference.

Chip Kelly is obviously going to need some time to figure it out in Philadelphia, too. They will never get the FA's they need to fill holes over there on D.

Bama fumble on the 1 yard line. Dude aTm held Rice to 31 points and FCS Sam Houston St to like 28 points. Their D will cost them games this year.

My hats off to Coach and the TAMU Aggies.

You should have more confidence in your team. I know y'all gave up a number of yards that was close to infinity on defense, but you all did win the game.

As far as I'm concerned, Bama is a solid #2 after LSU this year in the West. aTm had their chance and are not on the verge of over taking you guys. They were exciting though in the game!

I can't wait until LSU plays aTm and destroys them. Mett and Hill will have a field day with that horrid D. Also I wouldn't be surprised if Arky beats them because they can not stop the run at all.

This mentality is horrific. Some of you guys act like teams can't improve from week to week. The Aggies' defense is abominable and has great room for improvement, so why won't they?

Oregon's defense only had problems versus U.S.C. last season. Other than that, they kept everyone else in check in a league known for high-powered offenses. Oregon has improved on defense. Watch out.

so since Bama fumbled on the 1 yard line means their offense is terrible? sounds legit

Not what I heard. I heard based upon that monstrosity of a game, the WAC and the SEC are working out a deal for A&M and Bama to bring those weakazz defenses out west. Little Tuesday and Wednesday night MIZLOU Network action!

The serious answer is you are right, one day when we go from upstarts to bourgeoisie (aka have four or more years of top 10 talent) we will have to depend more on D and running the ball if we want to move to the next level of competitiveness.

I think we will always keep the pace, as it has such an adverse effect on SEC defenses. If most SEC offenses go HUNH, then we need to go the other way.
