At least Mack won a title and got them back to the BCSCG...that is a hell of a lot more than Richt has accomplished.

UGa is the Climpson of the SEC. Chronic underachievers.

They are all gone because Richt has stolen their will to carry on.

You are living in a fantasy world. There are Georgia fans on this site that would trade Richt and a month's pay for Saban

I don't know about a month's pay. Maybe a week or two.

That guy doesn't speak for all of us. I'd sacrifice a village of innocents for Saban. I'd even throw in Grantham to the local tuscaloosa zoo to use as a "guest" lion tamer.

Seriously. Is there some kind of trade package we can work out? Any trees that need a good poisoning?

Mark Richt is still your head coach.

Ok, ok, Trey, we go far back, right? You know me. I have been one of the more vocal arse holes on this board for my respective team when it comes to head coaches, no? I mean not just UGA but the SECr. And even I gotta ask ya, when do we fire him? I have only one solid answer for a when but since then there has been no opportunity.

2010 after UCF, that was when it was most possible. But a brand new AD chose the smart path to him. New to the job and has a very popular albeit stagnant head coach. He went the easier route and chose to give him another chance and since then Richt has yet to present an opportunity. Can't fire a guy after the SEC title appearance in 2011, 2012, and now injuries for 2013. It's tough, man, what would you expect? Firing a guy who just went 10-4, 12-2, and then this year sets a bad precedent.

The only solution is Richt's retirement which if our fan base is just as bitchy as Arkys was then we should be coach shopping by 2015

I think you're exactly right. There hasn't really been a good time to can Richt that wouldn't scare off any potential replacements who just saw Richt get fired after a 8-10 win season.

He would have been fired at Bama after the 08 season

Honestly, UGA would be taking a big risk in firing him. For all the shite talked about Richt here, he just wins too many games to fire him and has won the East two years in a row. Plus, there are no guarantees that the next guy is going to take that final step (and it's very possible he doesn't maintain 10 wins a season like UGA has with Richt).

The SEC BCS dominance without UGA winning one really makes the Richt situation unique. To see Alabama, LSU, Florida, AU, and UT (the rest of the big 6) all get at least one really overshadows Richt maintaining a good program. Eventually fans are just like - frick it let's roll the dice and make a change even though that might not be the rational thing to do.

Doubtful. He went 10-3 and was a year removed from a Sugar Bowl win
