Have Mizzou and A&M proven we are just a bunch of dumb rednecks?

Up to last year, my SEC brethren and myself included have mocked the rest of the country with the dominance of our conference. We stated how deep it was and how any other conference winner would have at least 4 losses if they were in the SEC. The rest of the nation would call us inbred homers and say our conference is nothing special. Well, did Mizzou and A&M get the magic SEC potion when they joined the SEC, or was everyone else right?

True, but assuming Mizzou wins the East and with the success A&M had last year, it sure seems that we didn't know what the hell we were talking about

Yes.

...but so was everybody else from all over the U.S. We were going into the slaughterhouse. This move was going to destroy any hope of future success, according to damn near everybody, including the know-it-alls on ESPN.

The goal is to win the SEC, which neither has done. Mizzou seems to have a better shot this year than aTm did last year but probably won't happen. So no..they haven't proven jack shite because they haven't done jack shite.

Sorry, a Heisman Trophy does not constitute a successful program.

True, what is even more amazing is you still had the majority of SEC rant idiots saying Maznziel would fall flat on his face this year because he would be figured out by the SEC defenses in his 2nd year. Like last year was some magical fluke

This thread is about 10 years too early.

Not the point I am making. We as SEC fans would say the Big 12 champion would have four losses while the middle of the pack big 12 teams would "get there gimmicky offenses handed to them with a losing record." Well two middle of the pack big 12 teams have already proven us wrong

No, this thread only makes sense for the first few years they are in the conference. If it took them 10 years to have success one could just say they finally have the SEC advantages under their belt. The fact they had success instantly proves the SEC speed and dominance is somewhat of a myth

Not feeling down at all, just somewhat laughing at how stupid I sounded

I think people take trash talking too seriously, or as being too serious when they're actually trash talking. Both have been good teams for some time now. Moving to the SEC wasn't going to change that. And when I say good teams, I mean they've gone to and won some bowls in recent years.

So A&M finishing 3rd/4th in the West, and Mizzou rising during an injury plagued East, proves the SEC isn't what we thought it was?

This board proved we were a bunch of dumb rednecks. Mizzou and A&M haven't proved anything yet.
