meh. Game 1. Most SEC teams have patsies again next week, with one or two exceptions. by game 3 i would expect defenses to be tightening up.

What was it about Ole Miss defense that was not stellar?

Why did you "Edit" your unedited post?

Watch the second half of the Georgia Clemson game. The pass rush, the run defense, the secondary......everything. We started off pretty shitty but flipped the switch in the second half and gave 0 yards rushing and 15 yards passing in the entire second half.

UGA's defense in the second half.
First half was average at best. Second half, we gave up one first down and 15 total yards.

Giving up 400yrds to an unranked team..and keeping it close to the end of the game...for the"best D-line in the SEC" maybe.

I could be mistaken, but I think I saw that Clemson had -19 yards in the fourth quarter.

I thought Auburn's defense played very well in the second half. 61 yards total, 2 yards rushing for Arkansas.

It's the defenses fault that it was a close game at 7-6?

I agree. Although I think teams with better receivers are going to give you some fits.

Auburn's post halftime defense was pretty good.

Even though it was southern miss, state's defense looked great.
Pitched a shutout, forced 3 turnovers, held 'em to 283 total yards.

People go nuts over the first half and have short memories on the second half of games.
Most of the teams started very poorly, then got better. Geez, it is the first game. All of them will improve.
