How many national titles?

Your respect will match the results.

Bang up job for national news headlines, though. Misfits.

There's only one real answer here.

Because the Aggies have only been around a few years; they are at an unfair advantage of comparing apples to apples. But it's not like they lit up the last conference they were in; so the skepticism of other fans is rational.

So they are a 2nd tier school at this point.

Ole Miss has always been a 2nd tier school and after yesterday, the probability of them continuing that same success is high.

we have won 2 national titles since joining the SEC. LSU has won

Eta: actually LSU had to vacate its 2012 women's track and field title so A&M has doubled LSU in national titles

Trust me, the historical aspects of each university weighed heavy on my mind when deciding tier rankings. I really couldn't think of any for Ole Miss, thus, their poor ranking.

Ole Miss has always garnered more respect than South Carolina, even when you had a hall of fame coach.

We've contributed more for the SEC in 24 years than Ole Miss has in 83 years.

It's been an odd year.
We actually performed worse in sports in which we traditionally fare pretty well.
Apart from football, softball, and men's swimming & diving, we were pretty competitive across the board.

Conference finishes (*Equestrian doesn't score conf action)
Baseball - still playing
Basketball (M) - 1st
Basketball (W) - 3rd
Equestrian - 4th (national)
Football - 5th (division)
Golf (M) - 2nd
Golf (W) - 4th
Soccer - 6th
Softball - 10th
Swimming & Diving (M) - 8th
Swimming & Diving (W) - 1st
Tennis (M) - 3rd
Tennis (W) - 6th
Track & Field Outdoors (M) - 2nd
Track & Field Indoors (W) -2nd
Track & Field Indoors (M) - 2nd
Volleyball - 1st
