He defended his son, then said something to like “it’s not always important to get 5 stars, and you need kids that buy in and work hard”.

Good for him. Dude is being done wrong by the boosters and deserves another year.

1. AU can’t pay another coach to leave
2. AU can’t pay a new coach’s buyou
3. AU certainly can’t do 1 AND 2
4. AU can’t fire Harsin without also firing the AD. No way they let him make another hire.

AU boosters have screwed them.

So Harsin’s dad thinks this Auburn shite show is because his son can’t haul in 5*’s when he’s only been on the job 1 yr?

Here’s an Al.com article.

https://www.al.com/auburnfootball/2022/02/is-paul-finebaum-caller-dale-from-boise-bryan-harsins-dad.html
quote:

“I got to Dale from Boise and he’s talking,” Finebaum said Thursday. “He’s saying a lot of very inside Boise State type of things. He mentions Kellen Moore and these other things I was aware of when Harsin was the offensive coordinator. The tone was that Bryan Harsin was responsible for all the success out there, and I didn’t object.”

As Finebaum is quick to point out, he isn’t an FBI voice analyzer. However, at the very least, you can’t help but notice the similarities in the voices. Or maybe it is the SEC football in us that loves a good pot-stirring narrative.

Highest paying job in Alabama is ex-Auburn coach.

If you somehow become successful...set for life

If you're a complete and total abject failure...set for life.

It is t a job, it’s just a lottery win.

Only reason for any Coach to come to Auburn now.

Get a high buyout and then ignore the Boosters.

Once you sign that contract, you have incentivized the coach to get fired. It's a real problem that is never discussed. Most people will choose getting paid to not work over having to work. Especially millions. I don't care your passion for the game, when things are bad how does it not enter your mind. Look at Urban Meyer at Jacksonville, he probably did it for the buyout from the get go. Coaches everywhere mail it in somewhere down the line

A bunch of blue collar try-hards pulling in the same direction is nothing to sniff at (see Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern), but this is the SEC baw.

When your Daddy has to call into the sports shows for you to keep your job, it’s probably time to move on. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!

Yeah, well, Finebaum used to interview Derek Dooley's momma when he was at Tennessee. How'd that work out?

I can't believe that my elaborate plan of spoofing my # to a 208 area code and reading up a little on Harsin's family and coaching history was enough to get through Finebaum's call screeners.

But hey, look at most of the callers they allow on that show. I shouldn't have been surprised.

Glad daddy is sticking up for junior. Kind of telling that mom remains silent though.
