Also the 4th best coach in the big 10 east.

He is almost as overrated as Bo Schembechler.

Wasn't this thread done yesterday? I think we all know he is an underachiever in college.

2015: 10–3/#12
2016: 10–3/#10
2017: 4–1

2015: Away loss to 10–3/#17 Utah by one TD. Loss to 12–2/#6 Playoff team Michigan State by less than a TD. Loss to 12–1/#4 Ohio State. After inheriting a team that went 5–7 the year before.

2016: Away loss to 8–5 Iowa by one point. Away loss to 11–2/#2 Ohio State by a field goal in double OT. Last second one point loss to 10–3/#8 Florida State in a bowl game.

2017: Loss to 4–1/#21 Michigan State by four points.

The nine million they're paying him is a little steep, but he took Stanford from basically football oblivion to a top five team, then went to a Super Bowl a couple years later. If Michigan can afford to pay what they're paying him, he'll eventually get them a NC. People being upset about the success of coaches like Jim Harbaugh are the people who get NC caliber coaches fired, replaced by inferior candidates, and watch their team slowly slip into obscurity for decade(s). See: Texas, Nebraska, Tennessee, possibly LSU.

Anyone in the SEC except Alabama would be thrilled to have Jim Harbaugh.

He only returned 5 starters in one of the toughest divisions in football and UM's starting QB is out for the season. He has turned around every place he's been at. Is he Saban or Meyer? No but you are an idiot if you don't think he's a top 10 coach.

Yeah, he's been blown out in one game so far. I'm fine with 9-3 type football. They lost more starters than anyone from last year, they're on a backup QB, and their best receiver is out. The offense sucks in part because the redshirt freshman who was supposed to be a stud isn't ready or something. But, the defense is great. I still think it's going to be 2 or 3 years before they are top 5 material. But, I'm not sure if Jim will stay if people pile on him for getting pounded by OSU a couple more times.

He will not win a national title at Michigan.

He will have trouble winning a B1G title. Or division.

So overrated.

Not sure why this is on the SEC rant.

Harbaugh is a good coach.. will never be great, just doesn't have greatness in him. Not well-rounded enough and doesn't have the people skills to be great.

No sir. That's a lie. There's a lot of revisionist history about Harbaugh and his success at Stanford.

Denni Green got Stanford to 8-4 overall and 6-2 in the Pac 10 in 1991; Stanford went 10-3 and 6-2 tying for the Pac 10 title in 1992 under Bill Walsh. Tyrone Willingham won the Pac 10 in 1999 with the team going 8-4 and 7-1 in conference. Willingham also went 9-3 and 6-2 in the Pac 10 in 2001.

Stanford is a hard place to win at but they had success before Harbaugh. Harbaugh blew up for catching Pete Carroll slipping once or twice but that's it. And, going to the Super Bowl means nothing to me if you don't win it.

James Franklin has eclipsed Harbaugh in the Big 10. It's Urban Meyer, Dantonio, and James Franklin in that order who are the three best coaches in the Big 10. Ferentz at Iowa is a better coach than Harbaugh.
