It's pretty cool that Texans tend to know their Texas history.

They've had it back for years. The Red River is the new border.

Look, don't mess with us.

We have been French, Spanish, Mexican, our own Republic, United States, Confederate and begged back into the United States.

We still hold the right to divide ourselves into five states and there has been talk about becoming our own Republic again.

Our flag, by state law, flies evenly high as the Stars and Stripes on flagpoles.

Our military fought gallantly at Gettysburg with Alabama on our right flank and helped defend Atlanta from that terrorist Sherman.

We accept your Independence Day congratulations.

BTW our Independence was declared at Washington-on-the-Brazos, TX, about 30 miles from College Station and about 20 miles from Blinn College in Brenham where Cam Newton played football.

Ugh, don't be an arrogant Texan. This is why people hate Texans.

And the above quote is false. Texas holds no special flag flying privileges. It's some BS one Texan made up and the others were so giddy to be superior that nobody fact checked. Kinda like TexAgs.

That said, I'm the proudest member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie class of 2005

and the most kickass states of the SEC are Texas, Florida, Louisiana and South Carolina in no particular order.

Tennessee is beautiful also but I'm not as big of a fan of the people I've met from there.

Arkansas sucks.

All opinions are final.

BK, brother, here is an except from the Texas Constitution......amended in 2001:

Added by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 1420, § 7.001, eff. Sept. 1, 2001.

(b) If the state flag and the flag of the United States are displayed on flagpoles or flagstaffs at the same location:

(1) the flags should be displayed on flagpoles or flagstaffs of the same height;

(2) the flags should be of approximately equal size;

Let's move on, we are close to hijacking the thread.

So Texas just claimed it? Any state could do that. The US isn't denying any state the right to fly their flag at the same height. They fly it lower out of respect
