I grew up in Southern California and the University of Southern California was always referred to as SC or USC. The University of South Carolina wasn't even thought about, but would be referred to as South Carolina or SCar.

Ironically the Coliseum is the only other stadium I've seen a game in aside from Williams-Brice. One of my best friends came to South Carolina for school from LA and his whole family is Southern Cal people so it's a funny joke in his family as far as the acronyms are concerned. His dad is a good friend of mine now too and every time I visit out there we go to So Cal games and he comes her for Gamecock games.

Good stuff.

This... it's not a slight if you generally are doing this to denote clarity... Most of the time, I don't even say "USC" aloud, it's just Carolina, or South Carolina if there is a chance to get confused with UNC. Typically just end up using USCe on message board for laziness/speed sake more than anything.

The only reason I'd use USCjr is if a Carolina fan was already openly trolling... I mean at that point, you're just inviting it back.

Actually, I've always liked this.

But I would like to point out to the haters that WE were a University before Cali was even a state.

Growing up, you would hear USC a lot. (University of South Carolina, get it?)

Also heard South Carolina. Whatever.

Now we also knew that Southern Cal had been called "USC" for a long time. No big. Lot of acronyms in the world, lot of 'em got to duplicate right? We could keep it straight, and if people in Nebraska thought of Southern Cal, when they heard "USC," well it's cool.

But we had some baseball caps I think it was. Had a "USC" on them. And the Snowflake dung people of Utterly Sucking Condoms got their panties in a wad (probably because they got sand in their you know what's).

Well there was.... wait for it... "Legal Action."

Now I can't speak for everyone but we peacefully had USC logo gear for a long time, and everything was cool.

But you see, a marketeer from Sucking Condoms got out of line. Exceeded his pay grade.

And for that, I will never forgive them. ("Forget, Hell!")

They are not now, nor will ever be "USC." At least to me. I will no use that term in reference to them ever.

Never for any reason, under any circumstance, should one inch of ground or compromise be given to West Coasters.
