The guy had us finish no better than 5th in the conference recruiting (hard to think of a time we finished higher than LSU Bama UGA A&M and more recently UF), literally never won a game in Tuscaloosa Athens or BR (his overall record vs these teams is still horrible including the home games). He caught the SEC by surprise in 2013 with his new style of offense that the rest of the league quickly picked up on, adapted to, and soon ran better than him. Quite frankly he never had AU as a serious contender again after his insanely lucky 2013 outside of those few weeks in November of 2017 (losing 4+ games every year). This coaching search has been embarrassing but hopefully it exposes our archaic notion that the big boys with the bags of money get to call the shots. You have to be willing to offer autonomy if you want any shot at getting a candidate worth a shite especially when you have Bama LSU and UGA on the schedule every year. I don’t know where we are headed but it was well past time for a change

With the amount of money we put into football (top 10 in the country) it should be expected to be competitive once every 3 or 4 years at the minimum. Don’t tell me about his wins vs depleted bama teams (recently) or a damn kick 6 lol. He’s a great man but the game has passed him by. Ok I’m done

Oh FFS. Idiocy like this is why Auburn deserves to be in the wilderness for awhile. Gus was a good, winning coach. And you're about to get Kevin Steele (or worse) at the helm. Enjoy your 3 win seasons. You deserve it, champ.

Very well may be the way this search has gone. However it was time to move on if this program has any ambition to ever seriously be competitive again

Your coaching search looks a whole lot like ours did in 2017.

He won the toughest division in all of college football in year 5. You say that's not substantial?

And you're calling the other guy an idiot?

I haven’t said I’ve enjoyed this coaching search a single time, it is quite obviously a debacle. What does this have to do with the fact Gus can’t manage to lose less than 4 games a year? I’m not sure what your point is I see no difference in winning 7-9 games a year while pouring in as much money into football as any program in the country and being a bottom feeder at this point. Clearly I have no control here man if I was in charge I may have attempted to lay out a plan before firing the guy

He immediately followed this feat by getting smacked in the championship and losing to UCF in the bowl, we got there because every linebacker on yalls roster was dead. How simple minded can you be or do you have the memory of an 90 year old man?

Not having a plan to replace the guy is a pretty damn big point against firing him.

Since y'all clearly don't have a plan, there's a big-arse hole in your case as much as you try to lawyer around it.

There clearly wasn’t one or if there was it was absolutely awful. I’m still not sure what your point is
