I think we should all form a prayer circle and rejoice that Swain was able to resume his football career after an injury like that.
It's a real testement to that kids mental and physical strength that he was ever able to recover.

Dude was injured, you're told to stay down if injured, he got up, hobbled, realized he couldn't keep up with the rest of his team that were flying on and off the field and hit the ground.

No kidding. It was a miracle.

People defending the Swain thing by saying he didn't return are morons and gullible. They got caught. Nothing else to do but play it out.
You guys can't be that stupid.

That fall was the greatest play of last season.
A rookie SEC coach from the 'slow 10' going to SEC media days and complaining about the HUNH offenses and suggesting faking injuries to slow the game down.
Gus made his point. Injuries can be faked to alter the flow of the opposing team's offense regardless of the type of offense the opposing team uses.

Yeah it was bush league, but it wasn't to slow their offense down. They were not going up tempo and I believe it was the end of the quarter anyway.
It was a jab at Bret for bitching about the swinging gate play and the HUNH causing injuries, then he ran the swinging gate play that he bitched about.

He was injured. Could he have played more, had it been more critical? Yes, more than likely.
As pointed out, his faking the injury didnt really do anything though.
He didnt do it the correct way and should have penalized, if need be. Penalties should be, remain out entire rest of game(at least a quarter), or if you returned in fake injury game, out 1st half of next

Swain faking that injury after Gus comments at media days would be like Bama coming out running nothing but HUNH against West Virginia this year. If you are going to bitch about teams faking injuries you can't have your players come out and be so obvious about it, regardless of the fact it didn't slow Arkansas down.

Or like Bert coming out and running no huddles and swinging gates.

I think players like that shouldnt be allowed to return for the rest of the game. BTW, Did Swain return after that?
Or at least the rest of the series for injuries that are legit.
Bama just needs to recruit and then condition better athletes. That'll solve their problem.

or if they were legitimately concerned about number of plays, they would pull players after so many plays, just like pitchers in baseball. You have 85 scholarship players and usually around 115 total players on the team. I think you can play more than just a few players, if you were really concerned more about safety

Funny how Bama and Mizzou had co defensive player of the year. One is going to be a 1st round draft pick, the other is considered by many in the NFL to be a player without a position because he's to big/slow to cover a guy in space and too small to play DE in the NFL.

Hypocritical. You don't say.

Maybe. But none of us really know anything - we just yap about it because it amuses us on message boards.
We have all talked about this a thousand times - it wasn't the fake injury, which I'm sure many teams do, it was the way Malzahn's comments were in contrast to Swain's actions.
It gave us all something to laugh about at the time - and still today. Hell Saban says a lot of shite I just shake my head about - because, in his heart I hearts, he is a bullshite salesman half the time. But so are some of the most important and better coaches out there - they screw with your mind and say things out of one side of their mouth and do the opposite on the other side. But, multiple-million dollar coaches do that to protect themselves, just like multi-million dollar CEOs. You do what you have to do to be successful.

Yes they should. Who cares if the offense will just snap the ball while you are doing that
