The 2013 BCS title game vs. FSU was almost a carbon copy of the LSU game last night. AU was up 21-3 (a few minutes before half). Then in the second half FSU has a kick return for 100 yards (just as LSU had a punt return). From there the momentum shifted and it was all downhill. Pruitt held Gus to only 10 points in the 2nd half.

So, yeah, Gus is pretty turrible at making adjustments at the helf.

It is obvious Malzahn like many coaches run off a script for the first 10-15 plays. He just needs to create a script for 70 plays and see if that works. It can't be worse than what he is trying not running the script.

That's what Nussmeier does at Florida. The first 15 plays, Florida looks fairly decent. It's the rest of the game and the situational play calling that causes him problems.

Gus has never been good at making adjustments and going off script. But all of you Aubs have known that for years now.

The kick return in the FSU game was with 4 min left and we went right back down the field and scored. Yesterday was way worse

Gus is an excellent coach when he has twice the talent of the other team. If talent levels are anywhere close to even he's getting the L however "they will be back"

Yes, but the others were still single digits. With AU's defense, if Malzahn was a great pre-game planner, you guys should be going into halftimes with 20+ leads every game, not just the one.

You finished with double digits in the first half only 3 times; only one was 20 or more. There's a lot of single digit starts to games in there.

There is the reason that Carlson is the number one scorer in the SEC. He has had to pull Maltball's arse out of the fire too many times.

TT, this pass play is inaccurate - it kinda implies that we have some intermediate routes.

77 points in the first half in those 7 losses (11 per game in first half), and only 24 points in the 2nd half of those losses (3.42). I mean, only 14 points per game in those losses sucks, but you're spot on, TTsTowel - that 2nd half is brutal.

A lot on the coach, I get that, but Stickman is suspect to me, as I've said all along. He just about, really should have, thrown a pick-six on the next to last play on offense and got stuck (sacked) on his last play of the game. This is what I was saying beforehand(prior to the game). I now don't just wonder about his ability so much as to his gameness. Is he man enough when the game is on the line? I wonder.

I will say this. Receivers did the best I've ever seen them play, so that was a plus. Carry On My Wayward Johnson did his thing, too. At least in the first half.

So, my point is the QB. A lot on the QB. He also doesn't have a clue of backside pressure several times a game. That will come back to haunt y'all, too.
