I know it has to happen some but I don't ever remember someone frying food at a tailgate. My best guess is the fast food crowd doesn't know the difference between the way fried food and barbecue smell.

We fry fish at my uncles tailgate.

Just realax dude. It was taken from a board with Iowa and Nebraska where the corn dog jokes make sense. And Auburn guy found it and ran with it about LSU. Embrace it. It is completely harmless

Wow, an LSU fan handling the corndog thing in precisely the correct manner.

If everyone did it like this, instead of whining about how it doesn't make sense, it probably wouldn't have caught on.

Embrace it? Why ????? Iowa and Nebraska are hundreds of miles from Baton Rouge.
The closest the corn dog will ever get is at the Texas State Fair - where it is the most popular item to dine on from what I understand.

I don't know why I've never noticed but I'm way too lazy to deal with hot oil at my house.

Someone wrote a rather stupid article and it got passed around the web.
The only real statement I have ever heard about the smell in Tiger Stadium was when I once interviewed former Ole Miss coach and player, Billy Brewer, and he related that players could smell the bourbon in the stands when they were warming up.

Back then Ole Miss tripped to Baton Rouge more often than not due to the size of Tiger Stadium and the bigger payout for the Rebels.

The corndog thing is bizarre. Some Auburn fan wrote it and we all know how things get distorted on the web

Does anyone have a link to or a copy of the original Iowa/Nebraska story?

I have heard that claim for years and have never seen the "original" post.

Katie Perry embarraased herself on national TV by seemingly exacerbating (to her) a bizarre fallacy created by actual manipulation of messages from OTHER schools' message boards (Iowa and Nebraska -you know - where the CORN is) by an Auburn person.

Where was it before she held it up? Shoved in between her legs with Ole Miss Skoal drool as a lubricant ??????

What is notable also is she had LSU on her mind when her team was playing.......
A L A B A M A....
Looks like Katie has the IQ of a Hoddy Toddy and her little brain is filled with flim flam....

All of this is why it sticks around. Some of you don't realize that getting pissed off about something that obviously doesn't make sense makes it all worth it and will make it grow in its use.

It's a lazy attempt at an insult and it doesn't make any sense. However, if they enjoy it that's fine, because there are literally hundreds of worse "insults" that would be more accurate for LSU or Louisiana. Let them keep their "corndog" insult as a distraction from much better fodder.

Deep friers are a lot of work, but this guy has been frying fish and cooking jambalaya every home game since before I was born. He loves it.

Ole Pissers smell three things
1 The constant breath of their toothless girlfriends
2 Their three legged dogs
3. Their upper lips

All three smell like corn dogs
It's a defense mechanism to make fun of others what yiu sense to be inadequate in yourself.

I read an article about it awhile back with a link to the archived Iowa story, but I didn't care enough to save it and don't care enough to look it up.

I do find it amusing that Auburn posters here get in as much of a tizzy about being told its a stolen joke as LSU posters do about being called corn dogs.

and you don't get that all your fans smell like carnival workers (corndogs) no one ever said you cooked them.
