Not really. Not at beating that tiger dick into the dirt so hard y'all had to quit the series like pussies.

And we've never played before or since, so that is something to keep bragging about.

To the uneducated out there:

Every pro sports city or major college sports program has its resident troll sportswriter. The one who takes it upon himself to purposefully inflame the fan base and the program that he is covering. In Los Angeles it was TJ Simers. Chicago had Jay Mariotti. New York City has Mike Lupica. In Boston, its Dan Shaughnessy. In New Orleans, its Jeff Duncan.

For the LSU athletic program, its Glenn Guilbeau. Absolutely nothing he nor any of those other peopel writes should be taken seriously because its only purpose is to troll the fanbase.

Bottom line is LSU fans don't know what a true rivalry is.

If you take the recent "rivalry" between LSU & Bama that started when Saban arrived at Bama, and multiply it times 10. Then you might begin to understand the hatred (and respect) in the the Alabama/Tennessee and the Auburn/Georgia rivalries.

Bottom line is nobody cares except those 4 schools. The "rivalry" games after that are a joke and anyone who says otherwise is full of it. There's no reason to handcuff the scheduling on an entire conference for less then 1/3 of its members.

The other teams that do go along with it go along with it because they know they like avoiding Aub/UGA UF/LSU and UT/Bama as much as possible.

There's a very easy to make it fair for everyone and why Slive doesn't make it happen is beyond me and probably him. He's truly a puppet.

You Bama fans keep saying this, but it has been quite a while since Tenn has had a pulse. How long we talking here? 5, 10, 30 years?

Tenn won't swing back up until Alabama is under sanctions again... so 3-4 more years?

I was wondering when these forum trolls would start utilizing Guilbeau for their purposes.

LSU Cross-Divisional Opponents
22 - Florida...213 wins...
14 - Kentucky...102 wins...

8 - Tennessee
7 - Georgia
7 - South Carolina

LSU's schedule has clearly been tougher over that time period.

Alabama has played a much easier SEC schedule overall over the course of the past 21 years. Yet, championships are still judged by your confernce record.

They should only count division games and use the non-division games for tie breakers or something. So, if a team goes 5-0 in the division and 0-3 against the east, they win over the team who goes 4-1 in the division and 3-0 against the East. The non-division record would only come into play in the case of a tie breaker. That equalizes it quite a bit. And, it makes division games count that much more.

UT last won the east in 2007

Most media/fans expect Tennessee to compete for the east next year

Here's a big YEAH RIGHT to that whole paragraph.

I didn't read the thread or anything that you copied and pasted. Guilbeau is a douche. I saw his name in the title, and that's all I needed to see. He lives in North Louisiana, AKA Arkansas or Texas, depending on if it's Monroe or Shreveport.

Why would Bama be "afraid" to play UAB?

Oh wait, they did beat LSU not too long ago.

When did 14 years ago become, "not that long ago?" At least UL-Monroe was in the single digits (7 years ago).

Kind of ironic that Saban was the losing coach in both losses.

I have been posting FOREVER that LSU = UGA/UF DOES NOT MATCH Ala. = UGA/UF.

Now, while I agree with most of what he said, I think the Miss./Vandy rivalry is ~90X, so that should count for something.

Oh, so it's NOT about the downswing TN is having right now. It's just about the city of Gainesville?
But wouldn't we hear the same complaint had y'all been paired with anybody else?

Kind of funny that suddenly the Gumps love Guilbeau especially considering that they ran is arse out of Mobile for writing the same kind if inflammatory crap about Alabama when he was there.

i like having the toughest schedule every year. It gives you lots of respect. We have gotten a lot of millege out of tough schedules. Bama has been criticized quite a bit for its soft schedule.

Tennessee football used to be topnotch. NOW, Tennessee football is garbage. Maybe that will change some day soon. Maybe not.

Glenn Guilbeau is a troll and a poor writer. It amazes me anyone pays him to write his middle school level drivel.
