I never said Guice was the better back. Also, most of the posters on here have some idea of what both of these guys are capable of. It's not like 2 guys out of high school who haven't played a snap are being discussed.

Guice

Every time Guice touches the ball he breaks at least two tackles.

f only there was a way to track each back's current accomplishments. Oh wait, we have that. And it's a landslide.

I agree, but LSU fans will just pull out the "potential" card again. It's pointless.

Against AM? I can't take that serious. You might as well post his high school highlights.

I won't. I am interested in what has actually been done. Sony is certainly more proven. But look at that youtube clip of Guice posted by Lsupimp top of page 2. That is how he runs every time he gets the ball.

I'd like to make a witty Chavis comment here, but I guess I need another cup of coffee =)

Guice is closer to Chubb then he is Sony...

I know that will piss people off but it is true. He is a track and weight room freak just like Chubb

ETA: I honestly don't know who will be a better pro between Guice, Chubb, and Fournette. I think they are all unreal

Not really. I saw very few LSU games this past season. What i saw of Guice....I was very impressed. He will definitely be a great one.

While true, there is very little to base anything on with Guice. Anybody that takes 50 carries and extrapolates that out to 300+ carries is fooling themselves, though. You can't do that. It just never works out that way. As good as Guice will be, he will not get 2500 yards rushing.

Don't get me wrong...I think Guice is really, really good and will rush for 1500-1700 yards when he takes over for Fournette. Might even contend for the heisman. LSU is very fortunate to have had two backs like them back to back, just like we were with Gurley and Chubb. But, I don't think Sony is nearly as good as Gurley or Chubb. Totally different runners.

Maybe. I haven't seen enough of Guice to say. What I have seen of Guice does not add up, though. My impression is that he relies more on moves than power, although he certainly has some power, too.

Chubb is raw power and a lot of speed to boot.

Guice is all power Sometimes he relies on it too much. I'm telling you Guice and Chubb are extremely similar. Unreal power and strength but also fast. Guice cleaned 355. Which would have him the strongest player on Ole Miss team ties with Nkemdiche. I'm pretty sure Chubbs weight room numbers are similar

/agree It is much different when you become the feature back and people begin keying on you. That was a response to a comment about his being a "serviceable backup." His performance in limited action has been better than "serviceable."

See? This is not what I got from him when I saw him play. (I can't remember who it was against) I do believe he is an excellent back, though.

ETA

When I said "see?" it was me saying it is silly for anybody to say which is the better back.....not doubting what you are saying. There just isn't enough film out there to tell.

The game Guice had vs South Carolina shows his potential as a featured back.

Sony is very nice, honestly the way both backs run (after watching the highlights) is extremely similar. Aside from the couple plays against Alabama and the ridiculous one he had against Tennessee (which looks like one of the like 4 or 5 guice runs I've seen) nothing from that tells me he is better than guice other than he has more experience. The first like 2 and a half minutes of highlights were a lot of plays against the lower half of D1. Schools like ULM and southern. Some nice South Carolina highlights but if you watch what Guice did to South Carolina then lol.

To the arguement that Fournette wears them down first. This is not always the case as Guice gets a lot of playing time throughout all the quarters and he even started one game this year.

As I see it I give a slight edge to Sony solely based on experience.
