I see a team that hasn’t been there in a while. It looks good

Remember when internet user MetryMauler didn’t care about college football and was done with it?

Everyone knew South Carolina was overrated. Losing at home to the corndogs just made it obvious to them

Y'all had a rough week, but you should get back on track Saturday night against a reeling Ole Miss club

Shocked we are still ranked honestly
South Carolina is a bubble team and has been all season when going by the various formula rankings. The #11 ranking was a gross overreaction.
But our team did whoop Kentucky's arse all over the court

That wasn't surprising, as Kentucky was slumping badly at the time and had suffered several injuries.
Beating Tennessee on the road was a shocker. How did y'all do that?

They were ranked #6 and considered a potential final4 team

Because South Carolina is a good team. Not a great team at all, but they are a good team capable of winning surprising games.
But they've blown leads all season. It bit them in the arse earlier vs Georgia and then this past weekend vs LSU.

100%. Because you know they'd be posting about said sports if their schools were any good at them.

Almost bit them vs Ole Miss, too. The team lacks a killer instinct that it desperately needs. Losing to LSU, when having a massive second-half lead, is simply inexcusable. You're at home. You're the better team. You have a 17 point lead. Should not happen.
USC also has some key players slumping right now. Stute, Cooper, and Johnson are all ice-cold. CMB's emergence has helped counteract that, but they desperately need Johnson and Cooper to pick it up down the stretch if they want to sneak into the tourney.

Weird shot taken.
we still beat you by 17. Sorry we didnt post the AP poll.

They had won 8 of their last 9....They werent slumping at all. 5 of their last 6 in that stretch they had scored 90+ and the one they didnt they scored 87.
Listen we were probably "overrated" but before we got beat by 40 ( ) we had won 7 in a row, including 2 top 10 wins. Any of the other schools on this board that had done that would be thinking they were top 15.

South Carolina would need an epic choke to play their way completely out of the field. I’d guess they’d be around a 6 or 7 if the committee selected today.
However, they also have nothing but tough games left in the last five:
AWAY = to three bubble teams that will desperately need the USC win: Ole Miss, Miss St and A&M
HOME = streaking Florida and Auburn
I think they certainly win a couple and not really be anywhere near the bubble.
Kenpom, Torvik, NET: fans complain every season. But, this is a good reminder that those metrics measure a team’s quality of play which fans tend to gloss over if their team scrapes out wins.
Ole Miss this season too is a good example.
The metrics may not be perfect and aren't usually 'right on the money' but more times than not a team with a gaudy record and bad metrics comes back down to earth.

We have been left out with 25 wins before. Nothing is going to make us feel that secure

That was the year when the NCAA travel person called the University of South Carolina on accident to arrange travel when they meant to call the University of Southern California instead. That was brutal.
